Igeme, the export promotion centre of Turkey, will feature Turkey's industry, for the fourth time, at the Big 5 show 2003. Being a non-profit organisation, Igeme has dedicated itself to the promotion and development of Turkey's produce in the international markets.
For the past two decades, Igeme has been organising the participation of Turkish companies in international trade fairs and exhibitions and trying to forge stronger relations between the international importers and Turkey's exporters.
The Big 5 show is the largest annual trade show for the construction industry in the Gulf. The unique event combines five major sectors (building and construction, water technology and environment, air conditioning and refrigeration, cleaning and maintenance, glass and metal) under one roof. These sectors constitute the emerging and growing sectors of Turkey, particularly in the last decade, says a spokesman for Igeme.
At this month's expo, more than 30 reputable companies from Turkey will present their products and services in the 624 sq m of space taken by the Igeme at the expo.
Major exhibits include aluminium and wooden profiles, industrial and technical rubber products, ceramic tiles, ceramic sanitary ware, bathroom furniture and accessories, faucets, toilet cisterns and siphons, valves, wooden and steel doors, marble-travertine tiles and slabs, expansion tanks, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, wheelbarrows and carrying carts, plastic extrusion or injection products for building industry, steel pipes, varnishes, paints and thinners for wood and furniture, various types of wires and fences, concrete batching plants and rack and pinion construction hoists and electrical cranes, refrigeration units, condensing units, swimming pool equipment and pipe fittings, acoustic insulation foams for construction, marine and automotive sectors, thermal insulating foams, pipes and sheets for construction, air-conditioning and refrigerating, and plastic potable water and waste water pipes and fittings, hoses etc.
The Big 5 show 2003 will promote an atmosphere of greater cooperation between companies from the UAE and Turkey and contribute to the reinforcement of the commercial and economic relations between the two countries, he said.
The UAE enjoys a high standard of living and a high per capita income. The fact that the UAE is a major trade hub of the region and also one of the rapidly growing markets in the world makes it an ideal market for the Turkish exporters. The show is expected to go a long way in increasing the share of Turkish exports in the UAE market as well as improving commercial relations between the UAE and Turkey, he says.
