Stronger after a merger

Following its recent merger with Indian giant, Asian Paints, Berger Paints is expected to scale even greater heights. Prior to the merger Berger was a force to reckon with the world over, from Far East Asia to the Caribbean Islands, to the Mediterranean, to Africa, to the Middle East to South Asia, claims the company.

In over half these markets, Berger products and services have been market leaders with a long-standing reputation for quality and consistency, a company spokesman states.
Berger Paints was launched in 1760, when a young German chemist Lewis Berger, perfected the process of manufacturing Prussian Blue, one of the most important pigments of that age. The accomplishment not only marked the birth of Berger Paints but also played a significant role in establishing the modern paint industry.
Whether it is architecture and construction, automobiles, aviation, the marine industry or regular households, Berger offers the toughest and most demanding paint solutions, he says.

Over the years, the company has constantly matched consumer expectations with new and innovative products. Berger Paints was among the first to develop synthetic resins, which replaced paint materials based on natural oils. It also pioneered the paint-it-yourself concept and was the first to introduce non-drip paints and new generation plastic emulsion products, which are considered important milestones in the paint industry.

Recent examples of Berger Paints commitment to product development include:
Berger Epiflex  a new generation epoxy coating for ferrous/non-ferrous substrates; Epilux 82 - for wet and underwater substrates;
New Stone Shield  a long life architectural coating with marblesque/stone-like finish;
Aquashield  a long-life architectural coating for exteriors.

The spokesman claims: One of the main ingredients of Berger's success is its relentless research and development through its own initiative and concerted efforts with international professional bodies like the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (Nace) - US, Steel Structures Painting Council - US, Institute of Corrosion Science and Technology - UK, Oil and Colour Association of Singapore and Technical Committee of Singapore Paint Manufacturers' Association.

Efforts such as these have resulted in paint products that can weather all possible climatic conditions and resist everything from high temperatures, abrasion, corrosive atmospheres, oils, solvents, acids, salts and a multitude of new chemicals.

Berger Paints has been sought after by professional decorators the world-over for its complete paint systems for almost every kind of building. The company's products have been approved for use by government departments, local and international authorities and multinational companies the world over.
Berger has a state-of-the-art factory in the UAE at Al Quoz in Dubai, which has supplied to a number of prominent projects in the emirates.

In the UAE, Berger Paints enjoys a reputation that's as good as gold. As is evident from the prestigious projects to its name, like: Dubai Media City, Dubai Marina, the Al Habtoor office, BurJuman Centre, Le Meridien Resort, Shangri-La Residence and Dusit Tower, all in Dubai and King Faisal Mosque and Hilton, both in Sharjah, he claims.
