

Dubai-based Al Rahmani General Trading, a diversified building materials trader, has extended its product line to include doors, gypsum boards and parquet flooring and plans to add ironmongery and kitchen cabinets, later this year.
We hope to increase our market share and also capture more markets with the launch of new products, says managing director of the company Ibrahim Al Rahmani.
Also on the cards is the setting up of a new showroom in Al Quoz (Dubai), which according to Rahmani, will cater to the various projects in the region including the Emaar and Palm developments.
The trading company has been continuously upgrading and adding new products to its diversified range and will showcase its new range of MDF (medium-density fibreboard) at the Big 5 show.
Today, Al Rahmani deals with more than 10,000 products, procured from well-known companies worldwide and locally, says Rahmani.
The company, which was established in 1917 as a small trading concern, has expanded its product base to become one of the leaders in the supply of building materials, hardware and interior decorative items in the Gulf.
The company's portfolio includes adhesives, plywood, timber, cement and plasters, structural steel, MDF and HDF (high-density fibreboard) boards, gypsum products, roofing materials, ceiling products, diffusion materials, insulation materials, doors and accessories, flooring products, decorative material, hardware, plumbing and sanitary ware and electrical products.
Our products have been used on several prestigious projects such as hotels, commercial and residential buildings, villas and government buildings in the UAE, says marketing manager Harish Annaswami.
Al Rahmani has been the supplier of materials to several prestigious projects in the region including the Madinat Jumeirah, the 53-storey Salam Tower and villa projects in Dubai and the Conference Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The company is currently negotiating for several projects, which are expected to be finalised soon.
The company also undertakes turnkey jobs and has a furniture factory and an interior decoration department.
Al Rahmani General Trading, which started exporting to other Gulf countries in 1965, today supplies its products to the US, Europe, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Mauritania, Zaire, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Gabon, Madagascar, and the CIS states.
