For more than a century, Germany-based PVC profiles specialist Kommerling has focused on research and innovation to enhance product quality. The company claims that controlled technology has enabled the brand to offer products of an exceptional quality, particularly in terms of PVC frames for windows, in which it is the European and Asian market leader.
As an industry leader, the company believes it has a moral responsibility towards preserving the environment.
In creating the GreenLine brand, Kommerling has tried to follow a philosophy of excellence using its widely recognised expertise to ensure human health and to preserve the environment, the company claims.
Says a company spokesman: GreenLine is a concept that has been perfected to preserve the natural resources of our planet by working in three convergent directions:
Ensuring the ongoing improvement in the performance of materials by providing thermal insulation, which saves on energy consumption, and enhances sound insulation.
Recycling the basic raw materials (PVC-U, glass and steel) by reusing them in the production cycle - therefore improving efficiency by using less raw materials and energy.
Maximising the use of raw material components so that the end product is more refined, thereby ensuring the longevity of PVC profiles.
Kommerling's window, door and roller shutter profiles are now solely produced with calcium-zinc instead of lead, offering improved efficiency. Calcium-zinc is a new type of stabiliser that makes PVC-U profiles more resistant to the most aggressive weather conditions, claims the company.
Kommerling's focus on the environment begins with the selection of raw materials. Profile manufacturing is state-of-the-art and meets all applicable legal regulations, says the spokesman.
As a shareholder of Rewindo, a window recycling company, Kommerling has committed itself to contributing to the tried-and-tested method of recycling used windows and post-production PVC waste. Disposing of packaging material also is carried out in a closed recycling circuit.
The company has a comprehensive and detail-oriented quality system that ranges from product development to sales. Critical product inspection is carried out by independent testing laboratories. It was awarded ISO 9001 quality assurance certification by the British Standards Institute (BSI), Kommerling adds.
