The UK-based Bolton Rubber and Silicone (BRS), considered to be one of the world's leading rubber-polymer manufacturers, will make its debut at the Big 5 show this November.

BRS, a division of Xelflex Precision Moulders, has proactively resolved almost every imaginable rubber requirement for the global construction industry, from the simplest door gasket to the largest and intricate curtainwalling on some of the world's most prominent architectural facades, a spokesman for the company says.
BRS, which is capable of producing the whole range of rubber products to meet any design specification, has never reported a project failure in its 25-year history, claims the spokesman.

Established in England, BRS offers a high level of expertise in custom-built extrusion, corner moulding, compression, injection and transfer moulding and fabrication using a broad range of elastomer compounds such as EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), silicone, fluorosilicone, neoprene, nitrile and viton rubbers.

The company claims to have an enviable depth of knowledge in corner moulding and vulcanised joining solutions for windows and curtainwall markets globally. Utilising its own custom-built corner moulding and joining presses, it has successfully completed a huge range of high profile projects in silicone and other elastomers such as neoprene and EPDM.

BRS claims that it has often produced extremely complex rubber gasketry with unlimited vulcanised corners or joints and has been highly regarded for its superb quality and accuracy. We have been able to provide complete peace of mind by providing design advice, manufacture and delivery of top quality rubber resolutions on time, every time, says the spokesman.

Working hand in hand with systems companies or directly with major installers and construction companies, Bolton Rubber and Silicone has supplied rubber gasketry for hundreds of projects globally. With building regulations and occupier comfort demanding higher levels of building insulation and air and water tightness, the company has responded, simply and efficiently, with reliable precision manufactured products,he says.

The company has involved itself in some of the major projects in the Middle East, including Bahrain and Kuwait Insurance Company office in Bahrain; the Kuwaiti Embassy in Khartoum (Sudan) and Baghdad Hospital (Iraq). It has also lent its expertise to high-profile projects worldwide including the One Terminal at Chek Lap Lok airport, Hong Kong; Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Hong Kong; the Taipei Financial Centre in Taiwan (scheduled to become the tallest building in the world); the World Finance Centre, Manila (Philippines); and The Pornpat Centre, Bangkok (Thailand).

In addition to being a quality supplier for varied construction projects it also supplies bespoke rubber products to many Blue Chip companies, some only a few milimetres in length, and has achieved approved supplier status for names such as Philips, Nokia and Marconi.

With its proven knowledge in rubber and manufacturing accuracy, the company prides itself on resolving any rubber requirement within the designated project time and has been attracting customers from all markets. Furthermore, its investment in new machinery and technology ensures that it never stands still and the company has created a formidable level of in-house manufacturing capability,he says.

By continually researching on ways to offer new levels of manufacturing accuracy and design to customers, the business has recently strengthened its expertise to develop this side of the business. The re-investment made by the company in its long-established in-house compounding of silicone rubber has enabled it to offer a state-of-the-art colour matching service, including metallic finishes in any colour, which many other suppliers cannot attain,he claims.

This high level of company investment has been strengthened by the fact that it was acquired by the Phoenix Medical Group, earlier this year. Phoenix, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of ground breaking industrial and medical based rubber products, has employed a strategic diversification and expansion programme in recent years, acquiring a variety of rubber-polymer based businesses to expand its empire and become an impressive one-stop rubber resource.

A key business in the group, Bolton Rubber and Silicone is now able to tap into the rubber processing capabilities of other members of the group whose expertise lies in other markets, such as aerospace, thereby encouraging the cross-pollination of ideas and technical abilities.

Phoenix is an award-winning conglomerate with a turnover exceeding œ10.5 million ($17.53 million) and this is predicted to rise to œ20 million ($33.40 million) in the next 18 months, assuring Bolton Rubber and Silicone's continued re-investment and its position at the forefront of the market.
