THE Middle East office of Italian company Giacomini will unveil a range of new mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) products at stand number 3A102, at this year's Big 5 show.
Giacomini focuses on the Gulf markets since they offer great potential for our products, says general manager of the Middle East office Ramzi Fasheh.
The Big 5 show is important as it grants us the opportunity to promote our products and services. The exhibition is a forum for participants to meet key decision-makers (and present innovative mechanical solutions) and partners (with the aim of increasing cooperation). Participating in the show enables us to stay up to date with the market trends and competition, he says.
The Jordan-based Middle East office of the company was established in 1998 with the aim of promoting advanced mechanical systems and sanitary, heating, air-conditioning, fire protection, valves and other accessories in the region.
At the how, the company will promote:
Giacoklima an advanced radiant panel cooling and heating system, which provides healthy conditioned surroundings in summer and winter
Giacoquest an innovative and simple PEX system that is suitable for sanitary and heating applications
DADO valves a patented invention of Giacomini, these superior quality cubic valves feature a lower torque and a higher-pressure rating up to 4 inches.
The new Euro pumps series from DAB and
The new MAX burners series from Ecoflam.
The parent company was established in 1951 in San Maurizio, Italy, by Alberto Giacomini and is now commercially active in 86 countries worldwide, processing almost 100 tonnes of brass every day to produce a 6,200-item product range.
The company manufactures and supplies various building products such as: hot and cold water distribution systems; central heating systems; radiant panel systems; pipes made of PPR, polybutylene, PEX, and PEX-AL-PEX; brass fittings (compression, push, manual press and electrical press); accessories such as air vents, cabinets, brackets, tools; a comprehensive range of valves (ball, gate, zone, radiator, safety, check and non-return); fire protection (pressure reducing, restricting, hose and sprinkler valves); fire department connections, nozzles, adapters, connectors and couplings.
Giacomini also deals with several other products that complete or complement its systems such as Ecoflam range of boilers and burners for domestic and industrial applications and the DAB range of pumps and pipes and accessories from Aquapex.
Giacomini's Middle East operation is responsible for all commercial, technical and marketing activities in the region and is managed by several distributors in the area, says Fasheh.
Commenting on the Middle East market, Fasheh says: The construction sector has witnessed a boom in recent years, thanks to the return of several Arab investors.
The volatile political situation in the region in the earlier part of the year and the un-expected increase in the exchange rate of the euro over the dollar, has affected all lines of business, including the construction business. Fortunately, business in the region has been moving ahead at a fast pace during the past couple of months and this could offset the difficulties faced at the beginning of the year.
The boom is making the construction industry a vibrant sector of the economies of the area by absorbing a tangible percentage of the labor force. The market is moving towards being more price-oriented, though quality is still a dominant factor. We are commercially active in all the GCC countries, and have been successful in the Jordanian and Syrian markets. There has been a tangible growth in the markets of the UAE, Iraq, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman.
There is a lot of promise for our products because of this boom and we have therefore decided to adopt a new strategy aimed at setting up a permanent presence in those GCC markets which offer a potential for growth.
Giacomini products have been or are being installed in projects such as: Jumeirah Islands and Green Community (Phase 1) both in Dubai. Sheikha Noora Palace and Saffaf Homes (30 villas), both in Bahrain. Al-Enma'a tower, Kuwait Financial Center, Kuwaiti Manager Company, Muthanna Complex, all in Kuwait, and Sheikh Bader Al Sayed villa in Qatar.
The company has also executed many of the RGO (Royal Guard of Oman) projects in Oman, several other villas, palaces, towers and major projects and has also tendered for various key projects in the GCC countries.
