Sarpco (Saudi Rubber Products Company) will promote its rubber tiles for playgrounds and other sporting surfaces at this year's Big 5 show.

The company will exhibit its range of products at stand 4A152.
Buoyed by the response received from its participation at the Big 5 Show 2002, the company hopes to have a repeat result this time around.

The outcome was excellent; we received a good number of orders and established good relations with new customers, which we still maintain, says the general manager Mohamed A Alshaye.

Many factors have encouraged our company to exhibit at the Big 5 Show. To mention a few, the exhibition presents a congenial atmosphere to meet professionals representing all trades in the industry, promote our products, meet new customers and above all take a look at the different exhibits to broaden our knowledge of what is available in the industry, he says.

The Saudi-based company, which was established in1995 with a capital investment of $9.5 million and 25 employees, today has an annual turnover of $1.5 million, according to Alshaye.
We supply our product to various construction contractors in the Middle East including the UAE, and we look forward to widen our area of coverage in the near future, he says.

At its Dammam facility, Sarpco recycles millions of tonnes of used tyres to produce crumb rubber granules, which are then used in producing coloured, flocked, freckled and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber tiles for indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, and playgrounds.

Our products are all about safety, quality and durability, he says. They are easy to clean and maintain. and do not displace during usage thereby creating consistent shock absorbency all year round. They are water permeable, easy to install and come with a five-year warranty.

The company claims that its tiles help prevents leg fatigue, injury to spinal or backbone and muscle pain.
The finished rubber tiles of Sarpco can be installed in a wide range of environments including: amusement parks, acoustical areas, athletic areas, basements, day-care centres, decks, docks, factories, horse stables, ice rinks, indoor firing ranges, locker rooms, marinas, patios, physical fitness floors, schools, showers, swimming pool surrounds, walkways, walls, weight rooms, outdoor and indoor basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.

Sarpco tiles are made with rubber granules mixed with clear polyurethane.
Coloured tiles are made with pigmented black rubber through the top of the tile, or colour mixed with the entire rubber granules.
The tiles are available in red, green, blue, grey, sandstone and EPDM colours. The tiles are available in 60 by 86 cm format and also in special sizes and in varying thickness 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 mm to fit the needs of the customer.

Playground tiles are available as 50 by 50 cm tiles in thickness of 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 mm, depending on the fall height of the play equipment.
The flooring tiles for horse stables are available in the 122 by 122 cm format and are 20 mm thick.
