ADVABCED acoustic insulation surface sprays are to be showcased by Finland’s AcousticOne at The Big 5.
Featuring three surface patterns, AcousticOne’s sprays can be used on stone, wood, concrete, steel, plastic and painted surfaces.
“Where baseboards are not installed, the spray provides a competitive and superior alternative to other surface options such as gypsum-based or other sprayed roof and wall putties,” says a spokesman for the company.
“The simplicity and quickness with which the surface can be installed and the short time the product takes to dry enables it to successfully compete with many other solutions,” he says.
The spray surfaces offer three levels of rugosity: ‘Structure’, ‘Standard’ and ‘Silk’.
‘Structure’ has the most rugose surface and is suitable for applications where a surface or parts of it need to be accentuated. ‘Standard’ is the softer alternative, where the surface is slightly smoother, but still retains some rugosity. ‘Silk’ is a heavily smoothed spray that leaves a light, silky and flat surface. It is suitable for large roofs, long hallways and where the surface is expected to blend in with the surroundings. The surface spray is white but all versions are available in colours.
“AcousticOne’s sprays can be used in diverse applications. We have sound-proofed auditoriums, restaurants, offices, halls and private apartments,” he says, adding that the sprays have been used in airports, train and sea terminals.
During installation, the components need to be blended carefully to ensure proper acoustic insulation and planar levelling of the surface, the spokesman says. The spray must be installed by trained operators, using special machinery and tools. Once installed, the surfaces require little maintenance, making them more cost-competitive over the long term, says the spokesman.
If the surface gets dented or suffers any heavy damage, fill-in repairs are easily done. If the surface gets dirty it will not lose its insulative ability, however, a thin new membrane can be applied to restore its aesthetic appeal,” he says.
AcousticOne will be present at Hall 8, Stand 8 F339.
