JCB 426 ... popular with oilfield companies.

THE ‘Dancing Diggers’ from JCB, the world’s third-largest construction equipment manufacturer, are set to perform for the first time in the Middle East at The Big 5 PMV this month.

‘Dancing Diggers’ are recognised as one of the top arena attractions, with the ‘performers’ comprising JCB backhoe loaders that will do amazing routines set to music at The Plaza, a state-of-the-art area at the immediate entrance to the new exhibition halls where the PMV is being held.
Against a backdrop of this high-impact performance, JCB will make its debut at the PMV, promoting its full range of equipment while focusing on key product ranges like wheeled loaders, hydraulic excavators, compaction equipment and power generators.
It will be also relaunching its wheeled loading shovel, hydraulic excavator and the compaction range of equipment.
“The Middle East is an important region of the world, fast emerging as one of the key markets. JCB and its dealers have been working hard to serve our customers who are investing in the development of the region. The show gives JCB a great opportunity to meet its customers and show the investment that JCB and its dealer network is making to support its customers in the region,” says Paul Murray, district manager.
JCB manufactures 300 different machines in 12 product ranges including backhoe loaders, telescopic handlers, tracked and wheeled excavators, wheeled loading shovels, articulated dumptrucks, rough-terrain forklifts, mini-excavators, and Robot skid-steer loaders (wheeled and tracked).
In addition, the company produces a range of telescopic handlers, the Fastrac tractor for the agricultural sector, and the Teletruk forklift for the industrial sector.
Commenting on the company’s growth in the Middle East, Murray says: “JCB is growing organically in the region with our dealer network strengthening and our product range continuing to grow. The company introduces on average 10 new products a year to the market. This helps our customers become more productive.”
The Middle East, continues Murray, presents great short, medium and long-term opportunities for infrastructure building to support the regional economy.
“The strategic location of the region between Europe and the Far East establishes it as a hub for logistics, manufacturing and tourism. Great vision has resulted in a major growth in infrastructure that put the region on the path to development,” he says.
Galadari Trucks & Heavy Equipment has been the sole dealer for JCB in the UAE for more than 30 years, providing professional sales, service and parts support to the customers.

“The success of Galadari is a reflection of team work to deliver greater customer satisfaction,” says Murray.
Last month, Galadari-JCB concluded a major deal for 19 backhoe loaders from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), which already has a fleet of more than 15 JCB machines.
Despite the current market situation in the UAE, Galadari-JCB retails continue to show strong growth in all product segments and compete with other leading brands.
In Oman, Muscat Overseas won a contract to supply a JCB 426HT WLS to Special Oil Field Services Company. “These machines are used for drilling – pipe (casing) handling, oilfield rig movements and other material handling applications such as loading and unloading from trucks and containers. Various attachments such as forks, combi forks, jib cranes and shovels, are used with these machines depending on the application,” he says.
The JCB 426HT WLS is one of the most popular machines used by oilfield transporting companies, drilling companies and oilfield contractors (civil and maintenance) in the region.
Murray says the company used the economic slowdown to its benefit. “This year has been challenging, however, we have used the slowdown to focus our investment on improving quality and productivity and develop our relationships with our customers,” he explains.
“JCB is a global business. Though our global demand has reduced, our market share has increased worldwide with more customers looking for risk-free investments in equipment,” he adds.
JCB employs 7,000 employees globally and has 18 plants on four continents – 11 in the UK, three in India and the rest in the US, Germany, Brazil and China. The company’s worldwide headquarters is located in Rocester, Staffordshire.
At the show, JCB will be present at Stand PZ-A.
