HIRA Industries, one of the leading manufacturers of rubber products, is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Al Ghail Industrial area of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
The new facility, operated by its rubber division, will go on stream in March next year and will boost the company’s production capacity to 4,000 tonnes from the current 2,500 tonnes. The plant covers a total area of 300,000 sq ft and has a built-up area of 100,000 sq ft.
Rubber impact-protection systems for car-parks in residential and commercial projects, EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) gaskets for the aluminium and glass industries and rubber fenders for the shipping industry are among the company’s major products.
Set up in 2002, Hira Industries’ facilities located in Al Quoz, Dubai, and Fujairah cater to the market demand for moulded and extruded products. The rubber products are made to customers’ specifications in the industrial, marine and construction sectors.
“We have technically-qualified professionals to help develop new products or modify existing ones to offer total customised solutions to meet the stringent demands made by customers,” says a company spokesman.
“Our products have a very strong presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and in most of the other Middle Eastern countries. They have been also been widely accepted in the US, the UK and other European countries,” he adds.
Impact protection systems have been used in prestigious projects such as Burj Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Emirates headquarters, Abu Dhabi Airport Terminal 3 expansion, Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi and Building Material City, all in the UAE and Al Fardan Tower, Golden Bay Tower and Diplomat Tower, all in Qatar.
EPDM building profiles have been used in projects such as the Index Tower, Iris Bay Tower, Sidra Tower and Latifa Tower, all in the UAE; the Future Hotel in Saudi Arabia and St Regis Hotel in Qatar.
