THE Spanish Association of Equipment Manufacturers for the Construction and Mining Industries (ANMOPYC), one of Spain’s most important associations, is leading the country’s pavilion at this year’s Big 5 show.
ANMOPYC represents the most important Spanish manufacturers of machinery, components and auxiliary equipment for construction, public works and mining, with 94 member companies, 11,000 employees and a total turnover of €3 billion ($4.5 billion) per year.
Since its establishment in 1982, ANMOPYC’s main objective has been the development and promotion of member companies in foreign markets, supported by an intensive search for new markets and the protection of the members’ interests in other countries.
“The Middle East market has become one of world’s major markets. Therefore, ANMOPYC and the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) have seen countries in the region such as Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as main targets in their plans in promoting Spanish equipment,” says a spokesman for ANMOPYC.
“Today, Spanish equipment can be found all over the world and, during the past years, sales of products have seen an outstanding increase. The presence of ANMOPYC and its member companies confirm the importance of these markets to the Spanish manufacturers,” he adds.
The association’s members companies can be classified into seven sectors, namely road equipment; concrete; construction lifting, transport and handling equipment; quarries, mining and recycling; earthmoving; temporary works equipment; and auxiliary equipment for construction.
ANMOPYC (Hall 2, Stand F83) is coordinating the participation of seven of its member companies at the Spanish pavilion which will be exhibiting at the following stands in Hall 2: Cintasa, F87; G Boada and Rubi, E81; Lana, G80; Poyatos, G86; Prensoland, E87; and Triman, F81.
In addition to ANMOPYC, several companies from the Spanish region of Aragón will also be exhibiting at The Big 5. These companies belong to different industrial sectors, such as construction materials (stone, ceramic tiles and removable plaster ceilings); metal work; fittings and accessories for doors; technical lighting; electrical systems; fire and security systems; masonry reinforcement products; renewable energy; metallurgy; and sports equipment.
