SENNEBOGEN Middle East is eyeing major expansion in the Middle East and North African (Mena) markets and hopes to further its ambitions when it makes its debut at The Big 5 PMV this year.
The Dubai-based operation of Germany’s Sennebogen Mashinenfabrik will promote its entire range of products comprising cranes and material handling machines. The company produces some 2,500 of these machines annually.
“The Big 5 provides a good opportunity to enter the Middle East market,” says managing director Khalid Pappert, who reveals the company’s plans to appoint new dealerships in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
The Middle East operation, based in Dubai, will focus on new dealerships in the Mena region as part of its long-term strategy for growth.
Sennebogen has recently launched two new ‘green’ products – the 310 multihandler and the 818 material handling products, which have better lifting capacity – which will receive the limelight at the show.
With an operating weight of 19.5 tonnes and extremely robust design, the Sennebogen 310 is equipped to meet tough challenges, according to a spokesman for the company. “The hydraulic quick-change system with an extra-wide quick change plate makes the machine extremely flexible and perfectly suited for use with the relevant attachments. With a maximum load of 10 tonnes, the versatility of the 310 multihandler is immense, with applications ranging from the recycling industry, compost and biomass works, ports and warehouses, right through to the agricultural sector,” he says.
“The telescopic boom can reach heights of up to 9.3 m, which is extremely useful for loading heavy-goods vehicles and any activity where goods have to be stacked high or heaped together. A powerful state-of-the-art 144-kW diesel engine, 270 litres/min hydraulic pump and a large 380-litre fuel tank guarantee optimal as well as precise and smooth operation. The low operating costs and economic fuel consumption make the new multihandler highly efficient. The maintenance-friendly design of the machine helps cut the costs of maintenance and repair and ensure maximum availability,” the spokesman adds.
According to Pappert, while the Middle East market, in general, offers plenty of opportunities for construction firms, Saudi Arabia provides the most potential for business.
Sennebogen main objective, he says, is “to provide our clients with appropriate solutions adapted to their real site function and good service to maintain the highest standards of machineries in the market”.
Business has been slower than last year, admits Pappert, and the construction sector was affected by the recession like any other business.
Sennebogen has been operational since 1952 in Straubing, Germany, and set up the Middle East branch in Dubai in 2007.
The wide range of products manufactured by the company includes rope excavators, cranes, material handlers and purpose-built carriers as well as wheeled and tracked excavators. In addition to the highly-versatile production machines, Sennebogen offers custom-built and special purpose machines.
With about 1,000, employees handling its operations at its plants in Germany and Hungary, Sennebogen attributes its solid footing in the sector to advanced technology and constant product innovation.
Sennebogen will be present at Stand B26.
