A RECENT entrant in the regional glass market returns to The Big 5 exhibition this month to showcase its strength and know-how in the field.
Ras Al Khaimah-based National Glass Industry (NGI), which started commercial production a year ago, says its facilities located in Al Ghail Industrial Park are among the few in the region to be equipped with a fully-automated glass processing line.
“We have acquired the latest machineries and technologies for the facility and have assembled a team of experienced engineers and technicians to provide world-class manpower for all aspects of the company’s operations,” says Amjad Hussain, CEO and managing director of NGI.
NGI’s team comprises senior professionals with an employment or business background with Fortune 100 companies.
“The company started with a vision to stand out as the region’s most professionally-managed, technology-oriented and service-minded glass solution provider, fuelled by the enthusiasm, commitment and innovation of its employees,” he says.
Its product range includes single and double glass units, stained glass, showroom/façade glass, shower cubicles, laminate glass and acoustic glass.
“NGI’s competitive edge in terms of technology and experience forms our core strength,” says R Anandram, general manager – operations.
“One of the crown jewels of our operation is the processing and production management software from Lisec, which enables us to optimise productivity, efficiency and quality in practically all areas of the glass processing operation,” says Anandram.
NGI’s facility is equipped with an automatic glass loading station giving the company the flexibility to load a wide range of dimensions into the production line up to jumbo sizes.
Its jumbo three-axis automatic glass cutting machine can cut any shape from 2 to 19 mm thick and jumbo sizes of 3,000 mm by 6,000 mm with self edge deletion.
NGI facility also has a horizontal glass washing and drying machine for clear, low “E” and super low “E” glasses. This machine can wash glass with a width of up to 2,600 mm.
Its fully automatic open assembling station for insulating glass units utilises Lisec parallel guiding system. An electronic sensor control system ensures consistent unit assembling. A spacer bending machines allows clients to choose their desired angles for the corner bends.
“Our facility also has a robotics technology unit that is fully electronic and speed-controlled metering to ensure perfect filling of the sealing groove even at varying depths of seal and around the corner,” says Hussain.
He also says “Ours is the first glass tempering furnace in the region with dimensions of 4.8 by 2.4 m for super low “E” glasses with an emissivity of 0.02 and a thickness from 3.8 mm to 20 mm. while our straight edging machine can obtain different profiles on glass panes from 3.8 to 20 mm thick with minimum dimensions of 300 mm by 300 mm.”
NGI’s facility is designed according to international environment standards. Its processing operation does not leave any ecological footprint as the company utilises advanced recycling techniques and waste disposal systems, according to Hussain.
Its stand is located in Concourse 213 between Hall 1 and 2.
