GERMAN precast machinery supplier Nuspl hopes to win new customers while strengthening relations with existing ones at this year’s Big 5 Show.
At the show, Nuspl will also be promoting a revolutionary new system which it has specifically designed for the Gulf, and will be launched at a major exhibition in Germany next year.
Over the years, Nuspl has strengthened its position in the Middle East by participating in exhibitions in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran. As a result, Nuspl has expanded its business this year with deliveries of precast machinery to Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It is also involved in a huge project for a precast carousel line in Bahrain.
“Nuspl’s long experience in the precast industry has helped it succeed even in difficult times,” says a company spokesman. “Thus, while the construction industry has been hesitant about making major investments over the past year, Nuspl has been pressing ahead with innovative ideas, among which is a solution to address the huge demand for housing in the Middle East to cope with the needs of a growing population.”
He continues: “Based on feedback received from the market, Nuspl has been working on a new patented building system, specially designed for the Middle East. This venture, being undertaken in cooperation with a highly valued customer, will be presented at Bauma 2010 exhibition in Munich.”
Explaining the rationale behind the project, the spokesman says: “Despite the many inherent advantages of precast systems, there are some disadvantages especially from the end-user’s point of view. In order to address these limitations, Nuspl embarked on a new venture that will use the precast technology to industrialise traditional methods of building houses.
“Governments across the Gulf are today supporting their young citizens with start-up capital to build their own homes. But houses still cost a lot of money especially if they are built in traditional Arabian style – and this makes it difficult for young people to build the house of their dreams.
“This new system is based on well-known solutions in precast and traditional local materials. The goal is to maximise quality and increase construction speeds while keeping traditional architectural elements in order to provide a cos-effective choice to potential buyers.”
Nuspl will adopt standard precast design techniques which been proven in the industry over the past 20 years.
The first factory to produce these systems is already under construction.
Along with its client, Nuspl has been promoting the system over the past few months “with great success among government authorities in the region”.
“We expect the new system – which combines traditional and precast building concepts – to further boost the precast industry in the Gulf and prove popular on the market. Additionally, we have developed a complete marketing concept for potential clients which will help them succeed in selling this type of housing,” he says.
Nuspl’s agent in the Gulf is the Dubai-based Deewan Equipment Trading, led by Ghaith Yasin.
“We are confident that we are working with the right partner who can respond swiftly to customer demands,” the spokesman says.
Nuspl was founded 55 years ago in 1954 in Karlsruhe, Germany, and has since then built precast factories and supplied equipment all over the Middle East.
It has helped establish three factories for the Egyptian military, three facilities in Iraq, one in Kuwait and several factories in Saudi Arabia, where it also supplied precast equipment.
