Advance Technical Parts Company will be putting the spotlight on its new range of American sealants, adhesives and coatings at the Big 5.

"We recently acquired the agency for Childers, a US manufacturer of vapour barriers, sealants, adhesives, mastics and coatings for air-conditioning ducts and chilled water pipes and we will be introducing them to the market at the exhibition," says Anoop Karani, the managing director of the UAE firm. "Childers is a UL-listed and ISO 9002-certified firm. It is a premium brand from Foster Products Corporation, an HB Fueller company."

Advance Technical Parts, established in 1990, is one of the largest traders in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration, with an annual turnover of $10 million. Its head office is located in Dubai and it has other sales offices in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi and overseas in Bahrain.

It has a central 40,000 sq ft warehouse in the Al Quoz area of Dubai and the company is also strong in exports to Iran and Oman.

In addition to Childers, the trader deals in compressors and condensing units from Copeland (US), copper coils and pipes from Mueller Brass (US), control valves for air-conditioning and refrigeration from Alco (US) and elastomeric insulation sheets and pipes from Superlon (Malaysia). These products will also be promoted at the Big 5.

Keeping in line with changing trends within the air-conditioning industry, Advance Technical Parts will shortly be introducing a reputed brand of pre-insulated ducts.

"We took part in the Big 5 previously and the response was encouraging," says Karani. "We won some new clients locally as well as from the neighbouring Gulf countries. The reason for our return is that the show is dedicated towards the industry we operate in and it attracts target customers as visitors. Another factor is that we have the new range of Childers, which we need to promote."

Business this year has been around 10 per cent above last year's levels so far, says Karani. "We are well known and respected in the industry for our fair approach to business and customer satisfaction. This helps us in getting a decent market share."

He continues: "Our products are used in every project as they are related to air-conditioning, whether it is a residential building or an office complex or an industrial plant. Major projects to which we have supplied our material include the Emirates Lakes residential villas, the Palace Hotel, the Oasis Centre, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters, the Al Reem Tower, an Adnoc (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) filling station and the Container Glass Factory.

Karani sees bright prospects for the construction industry. "Many projects are under way, including the massive Palm islands," he says. "On top of this, positive and forward looking government policies are also proving helpful."

Advance Technical Parts Company will be at stand 1E10 at the show.
