Makita Corporation, a leading Japanese manufacturer of electric power tools, will be launching new products at this year's Big 5 Show at Hall 1 Stand 1-A-23.

The company has been exclusively represented in the UAE by Naser Al Sayer and Company since 1965.

"Makita has a strong market presence in the UAE with an impressive steady growth annually since 1995," says Reji George, sales manager with Naser Al Sayer.

"With strong brand equity, high reliability, competitive pricing, a wide distribution network covering all seven emirates and trusted after-sales support, we were able to capture a major share in the UAE market," George explains. "The trend in rising sales is continuing. This is due to a combination of factors, most important of which is a healthy market expansion. Working in this growing market, we have been putting in concentrated efforts in the promotion of the Makita range. The Makita Gulf and Middle East office, operating in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ) since 1997, has supported this effort. Given this healthy trend, we should be able to corner 50 per cent of the UAE market in the next five years.''

At this year's Big 5 show, the company will launch the following new products:

  • HP 2050 - a 20-mm two-speed hammer drill with torque limit;

  • HR 2440 and HR2450 - rotary hammers with two and three-mode functions;

  • 4340 CT - professional jigsaws with low vibration and easy blade change;

  • The innovative BO-4900 and 4901 - finishing sanders with low vibration;

  • Model tools with built-in job lights which are said to offer excellent work efficiency in dimly lit areas; and

  • Makita laser levels.

    Next year, the firm will launch its new range of pneumatic tools.

    Makita has more than 700 models of electric and cordless power tools. Makita also offers all accessories for power tools ranging from jigsaw blades, router bits, cutting and grinding wheels, diamond wheels, TCT saw blades to SDS+ and SDS Max drill bits at competitive prices in 24 V and power tools in 110, 220 and 240 V, which is believed to be unique to Makita products in this market.

    "A well-stocked warehouse at the JAFZ ensures a regular supply of spare parts and accessories, as well as a comprehensive range of cordless tools from 7.2 to 24 V and power tools in 110, 220 and 240 V, which is unique to Makita products in this market.

    In addition, the Makita range has been expanded with the launch of battery-operated cordless tools with power capacities of 7.2, 9.6, 12, 14, 18 and even 24 V. These rechargeable battery-powered tools are available in a vast range - drills, hammers, saws, planners and screwdrivers.

    The company has four strategically-placed showrooms in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, a central workshop in Dubai and two smaller ones in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. It offers excellent after-sales support and a one-year warranty on all products ensuring customers gets value for money when they buy a Makita product, he says.

    Naser Al Sayer also maintains a large stock of equipment and spares in Dubai. It also stocks spares for models that have ceased to be produced. It has spares for some popular models over 10 years old.
