R Hira of the UAE will be using the Big 5 to further promote its Diamond range of premium products for the air-conditioning and plumbing industry.

Founded by Ramesh Hira in 1980, the company is today well established with offices and a wide distributor network in the Middle East and India.

Diamond premium products cover a full range of pipe support system accessories for the plumbing and air-conditioning industry, complete vibration solutions and Diamond adhesive tapes. Apart from Diamond, R Hira will also display a full range of industrial and domestic fans from Elicent of Italy and air handling units (AHUs) from Viking of South Africa.

These AHUs are a 'must-see' range for any consultant and contractor, says general manager Girish Hira.

"The Elicent brand of industrial and domestic fans are produced to European standards," says head ventilation engineer B K Thandani. "The range includes axial, centrifugal, inline duct fans, exhaust and roof-mounted fans, kitchen hoods, and many more."

The industrial range is targeted at warehouses, assembly plants and manufacturing plants, while the domestic range is said to offer contractors a high-quality, durable and economical product to work with, for residential and commercial buildings, and villas.

The new range of pipe support and vibration isolation systems under the Diamond brand includes the traditional split clamps, both plain and rubber-lined, sprinkler clamps, clevis hangers, roller supports and eco-friendly rubber support inserts.

"The steel clamps have an anti-corrosion coating of zinc which is applied by an electrolytic process providing a protective layer of more than eight microns and guaranteeing good resistance against corrosion," says head projects engineer Ravi Wadhwani.

"The vibration isolators cover cup spring mounts, housed spring mounts, rubber hangers and spring hangers. The springs are made of steel and are colour-coded for easy identification as per their weight loads. All mounts have approximately 50 per cent overload capacity and can be used for a variety of applications, such as air-conditioners, air handling units, blowers, chillers, condensers, pumps, fans and cooling towers."

The Diamond adhesive tapes are designed for use in the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) industry. Adhesive tapes in this range include aluminium tapes used for ducting, grey duct tapes also used on ducts, pipe insulation tapes and all foam tapes, used in various industries. Diamond adhesive tapes are manufactured in the UK and US and are then converted locally by R Hira.
