Italy-based GSG International, an international manufacturing group, has been operating worldwide since 1965 under the Giesse brand name.

This brand is a European market leader for the design and manufacture of aluminium fittings for door and window frames and is available in a wide range of products and solutions: tilt-and-turn, sliding, bottom-hung, top-hung and casement windows and tilt-and-slide, folding, sliding and casement doors.

"Giesse products are known for their high quality and reliability and are guaranteed by European certifications like RAL and ISO 9001," says a spokesman for the company.

The group is represented in the Middle East by GSG Middle East, based in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone.

One of the company's most popular products, the turn-and-tilt system GS999, is described as an integrated, easy-to-use product which offers all the functions usually contained in a complex closing system pack.

"The GS999 system improves the quality of living. Pull the handle and the window changes its position: one simple move of the hand to satisfy a whole range of requirements, from airing the room to securing the environment - total security with minimum space," says a spokesman for GSG Middle East.

He continues: "The GS999 guarantees maximum security for homes, due to the use of the Giesse burglar-proof mechanism, a complementary element which protects homes against burglary attempts, and the Cremone bolt with a removable handle.

The burglar-proof mechanism is easy to install and use, it has two elements - the keep and the pawl - which can be applied, with a simple movement, to all sides of the window.

"The Giesse Cremone bolt with key provides extra protection against burglary attempts. This bolt has a pin cylinder with centred key which allows one to block the handle in various positions, doing away with the need for a lock. The bolt is fitted with a safety mechanism which prevents any accidental movements from opening the window, but still ensures that the Giesse turn-and-tilt performs its airing function.

"The GS999 system can be applied to any design type. The shape and size of the window have no effect on the proper functioning of the system which works perfectly whether the window has arch or trapezoid-type profiles,or it is big or small.

"Giesse tilt-and-turn is also ideal for demanding installations and offers a high-tech solution which guarantees top performances for a very long time.

''Assembly is extremely easy and very few installation operations are required. Installation of the mechanisms and preparation of the entire system is now significantly quicker: this, of course, also reduces costs."

GS999 turn-and-tilt has received RAL 80 certification which guarantees the quality of the functions and security provided by Giesse systems, he adds.

Giesse has also developed a wide range of handles which come in various sizes to fit all kinds of sliding windows and doors. Recently introduced is the new Giesse sliding mechanism for doors and windows known as Brio Plus and Brio Mini.

The Brio Programme aims to satisfy all the requirements of door and window installers, says the spokesman.

Highlighting the features of the range, he says: "To make installation easier, Giesse has designed a revolutionary securing system that does not need any screws.

"The products are made of stainless steel to guarantee a long life and increase their resistance to corrosion.

"The Brio Plus and Brio Mini handles guarantee a uniform design so that the style of sliding doors and windows blends with all kinds of environments.

"The Brio internal pull handle makes it easier to open and close sliding windows and doors. It is easily applied to the wing upright, making assembly simple and rapid.

"Brio external handles and pull chamber are the ideal accessories for sliding doors leading onto gardens and terraces. Thanks to their special ergonomic shape, these accessories permit easy opening of the window/door from the outside. To guarantee maximum safety, a key version is also available."

Meanwhile, GSG International has also started to produce and market machines and equipment - called Giesse Industrial Automation - in order to improve and simplify the machining processes for producers of doors, windows and gates.

The group is also the official distributor of the Aprimatic brand, specialised in automatic opening and closing solutions. Aprimatic, founded in 1965, has established itself as a specialist in the automation and opening sector: automation for gates, garages and barriers, for doors, windows and skylights. The Aprimatic brand is known for the high quality of its products certified by TUV, the spokesman adds.

GS999 and other Giesse products will be displayed at the group's stand 127 in Hall 3E.
