Eco Ceramica of Italy will be targeting the Gulf market for its high-end products while exploring potential for new markets at this month's Big 5 show in Dubai.

The company, which manufactures ceramic, terracotta and glass tiles for indoor and outdoor use, says it has been attracted to the region's premier construction and contracting event by the growth in the Gulf market.

Sales director Antonio Reale says the company will be promoting its high-end products to develop a rich market niche in the region.

He says Eco Ceramica, which last took part in the Big 5 in 1998, also aims to tap into the "fast-growing yearly sales turnover in the Gulf area".

"We are also targeting new markets such as India, Oman and Iran," says Reale. The company is also looking at diversifying into new areas of growth.

He says the company has "very good but stable" business, adding the market requires different and profitable product lines. Most of its business is derived from the residential market sector.

The company has an ongoing research and development programme to provide new products and materials to its customers, he says. He added Eco Ceramica is also looking at diversifying into new areas.

In the region, the company works with a number of distributors including Hassan Abul Establishment, United Supplies, Sayyar, Elames and Najem Aba Hussain.
