Luxury brand .. the taps combine good looks and durability.

Luxury kitchen and bathroom brassware maker Perrin & Rowe of the UK returns to Dubai for the Big 5, to build on its success at the Hotel Show in May this year.

The company says it has become one of the most specified brands for luxury development and refurbishment by designers in Europe and the US as its products combine good looks and durability.

It says it provides kitchen and bathroom fittings in both classical and contemporary styles.

"Perhaps the brand's real secret lies within its emphasis upon integrating sophisticated, ISO 9001-accredited engineering with traditional techniques and attention to detail," says a spokesman for the company.

The brand is solely manufactured in the UK, where processes such as 'three-part plating' - giving most Perrin & Rowe fittings a final plating density of 25 microns (far higher than the industry standard) - are carried out routinely.

"Kitchen, bath and basin taps all feature ceramic valves, making them that extra bit tougher; crucial for the hardworking fittings of the average hotel bathroom," he says.

Founded 25 years ago, the brand's inspiration - and original partners - Greg Rowe and Bob Perrin still continue to exercise a very active role in the conception and further development of new brassware.

And with this year's launch of a brand new bathroom brassware collection, their creativity and matured vision is still very much in evidence, the spokesman points out.

Quirkily titled 'The Trademporary Collection', the wide range of fittings combine, as their name suggests, key elements from the Perrin & Rowe Traditional Collection with a contemporary twist.

They are, as co-founder Greg Rowe says, "Comfortably contemporary".

"The Trademporary designs are perfect for bathroom schemes with the brief to achieve a contemporary look, but also for designers who in their wisdom know that in reality, cutting-edge style soon loses its desirability and can easily make a room look outdated and unfashionable," says Rowe.

"We developed The Trademporary Collection in response to demand from specifiers who could find plenty of stylish, but not commercially suitable products."

The company says its range of bathroom fittings and accessories, including towel rails, soap dishes and toothbrush holders from The Trademporary Collection and The Traditional Collection will be on display at the Perrin & Rowe exhibition stand within the British Pavilion in Hall 6.

Designed especially for The Big 5, the Perrin & Rowe stand will also feature selected designs from the brand's soon-to-be-launched Contemporary Collection and a fully working 'tap bar', where visitors will be able to sample the chilled, filtered water dispensed by the Triflow drinking water purification tap.

Designed and patented by Avilion, Perrin & Rowe's parent company, Triflow taps are currently marketed and distributed in the UAE through an exclusive relationship with Franke.

"Resembling a normal kitchen mixer tap with hot and cold water, the Triflow system has an integrated and completely concealed waterway, which handles a flow of filtered water," the spokesman explains. "Although the Triflow was launched just over a decade ago, the recent addition of a domestic-sized chiller unit that allows the filtered water to be cooled, coupled with increasing consumer awareness of water safety has created renewed interest in the product."

Finally, The Perrin & Rowe Kitchen Collection - an extensive portfolio of mixer taps will also be on display.

Ranging from traditionally-styled bridge mixers and bibcock taps to ultra-contemporary single-lever, monobloc designs, the collection has a list of options that includes differing choices of spouts, lever, crosshead or matching handles and wall or pillar fixing unions.

They are available in a vast range of finishes including chrome, pewter, nickel and Inca gold.

Since its May debut, the brand has already secured two significant contracts in Dubai.

"Perrin & Rowe is a brand driven by the successful combination of traditional values - whether in design, engineering or sales -and a consistency in its use of advanced technologies, refined marketing and determination to forge fruitful commercial relationships," says sales director Steve Cole. "We are wholly committed to the Gulf and Emirates region, and hope the Big 5 will prove another worthwhile step in our bid to establish the brand's reputation as a market leader within the luxury kitchen and bathroom brassware markets."
