

Having experienced increasing sales over the past few years, Jeddah-based Ramat Marketing and Distribution Company is currently expanding its distributorship network with the opening of new branches in Makkah, Dammam and Rabigh in Saudi Arabia to offer enhanced and timely services to its customers.
“Over the past few years, the construction sector in Saudi Arabia has been one of the fastest growing in the Gulf and this trend is expected to continue for a while. This boom has boosted the sales of all the building materials companies of the region including ours. Our sales volumes have increased substantially in the first quarter of this year and we are confident of a promising year ahead,” says Ammar Quzeih, general manager of the pioneering trading company, which specialises in the supply of a variety of building materials such as steel, timber and plywood.
Ramat is well-reputed in Saudi Arabia as a trader and supplier of building materials with a portfolio that includes a variety of timber such as hard woods like Burma Teak, Cherry, Maple, Sapelli, Walnut, American Red Oak, Ash, German Beech (Pollmeier Brand), Romanian Beech, Angere, Poplar and African Hard Wood as well as soft white wood varieties from countries such as Sweden, Finland, Austria, Romania, Russia and Canada.
The company also supplies a range of plywood shuttering from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, Indonesia, China as well as Finland, being the solo agent for the Wisa brand. It also provides different kinds of medium-density fibreboard (MDF – an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, and combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure) from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Germany, Canada, Thailand and China. It also supplies veneer both plain and melamine and is the agent for Merbok in Saudi Arabia. Since 2005, Ramat has been dealing in all types of commercial steel products such as IPE, U-channels, angles, cold-rolled steel, tubes, pipe support, black sheets and galvanised coils and welded wire mesh.
Established in 1998 in Jeddah, the company has branches spread across Saudi Arabia.
