Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has announced that the value of construction contracts in the northern emirate for FY 2024 hit AED9.65 billion ($2.6 billion), up 62.6 per cent compared to the previous year’s figure of AED5.9 billion ($1.6 billion).

This aligns with the emirate’s strategic goal of achieving sustainable development in the construction and building sector, it stated.

Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department Department, emphasised Ajman’s success in positioning itself as a model modern emirate that ensures a high quality of life for residents, visitors, and tourists while providing an ideal investment environment for successful and sustainable projects across various sectors.

The 62.6 per cent jump in the value of construction contracts for 2024 was mainly due to the continuous efforts, strategic planning and forward-thinking policies of Ajman’s government, aimed at enhancing service excellence in building permit issuance, expediting processes, and boosting the emirate’s global competitiveness, it added.
