Dammam-based Canam Asia Limited (CAL) has recently obtained the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for its plain and composite decking panels manufactured at it newly-inaugurated facility in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

CAL, which custom designs, fabricates and supplies open-web steel joists, composite steel decks and other steel construction components, is currently supplying these UL-certified decking systems to a number of highly prestigious projects in the region such as the New Doha International Airport and Phase II of the Dubai International Airport.
The company, which has design capabilities, procures materials from Saudi Arabia, Japan and Korea and supplies the Saudi market, as well as to markets further afield in the Gulf and West Asia.
Canam Asia is a leading manufacturer and supplier of flooring and roofing systems for all different types of multi-storey buildings including concrete, precast or steel buildings.

The design flexibility of the Hambro composite floor joists system meets the needs of any type of construction, and can be used on masonry, steel frame, metal stud, precast walls, ICF block as well as wood-frame construction. The system is said to bring about cost savings of up to 20 per cent on the building frame alone.
CAL also offers a variety of steel deck profiles including the roll-formed P-3615, P-3606, P-2436, P-2404 and the P-3615, P-3606, P-3623 and P-2432 composites.
CAL – a joint venture between Saudi Arabia-based Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) and Steel Plus, an affiliate of the Canadian Canam Group (CMG) – is renowned for its expertise in the marketing, design and manufacture of high-quality steel products for the construction industry.
