Riyadh-headquartered Al Makateb, which manufactures, markets and trades in quality office and residential furniture, partitions and fire-rated steel doors, is focusing on establishing itself as a total office solutions provider in the region.

Established in 1978 in Riyadh to provide integrated solutions for the office environment, Al Makateb now has regional sales offices in Al Khobar and Jeddah as well as the Eastern and the Western Provinces and has gained a deep knowledge of the local market as well as an understanding of its client’s needs.
“Over the years, along with our sister companies and business partners, we have helped both the government and the private sectors to find solutions for a wide variety of projects in the region,” says a company spokesperson. “From inception to delivery, our clients can rely on the vast experience of our design team who can handle the widest spectrum of projects. Under the Al Makateb banner are four main industrial facilities covering a total area of about 40,000 sq m. These include the upholstered seating factory, which can produce more than 12,000 chairs and 5800 couches per year; the partition division which has a capacity of more than 35,000 sq m of partitions per year; the steel doors factory which can manufacture more than 6,000 door sets per year and the National Furniture manufacturing division (Athath), which produces wooden office and residential furniture worth of SR50 million ($13.6 million) a year.
The company’s impressive list of clients comprises ministries, banks, schools, hospitals and residential complexes. The list includes the ministries of interior, education, and municipal and rural affairs; the Saudi French Bank, Arab National Bank, Saudi British Bank and Riyad Bank; King Saud University, King Faisal Foundation model schools and Ministry of Education's girls school; King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Saudi German Hospital; and the Kingdom residential compound and the Hariq and Ranya compounds.
It has a versatile product portfolio (both in stock and on order) with different finishing materials which include system furniture (panel and freestanding), executive office sets, counters and reception desks, seating and sofa sets, storage systems, school and library furniture, cable management and flooring solutions, among others.
