Riyadh-based Tower Specialist Manufacturing Company (Tosmac) aims to solidify its position as one of the leading manufacturers of telecommunication towers in the Gulf region and increase its market share in the structural and general steel fabrication work in the building construction industry in Saudi Arabia.
The company, which is engaged in the design, fabrication and erection of steel towers for the telecommunication industry, showed a strong performance last year and expects to double its turnover this year.
“Tosmac managed to achieve a 14 per cent increase in sales last year compared to 2006. With our expected share in the demand posed by the third operator in Saudi Arabia for telecommunication towers and our entry in the structural/general steel fabrication works, we expect achieved at least a 100 per cent increase in our sales this year,” says Rashid M. Rashid executive manager
“Our main goal is to serve, help and support the fast-growing telecommunications industry in Saudi Arabia and the region. Our tower structures are fabricated easily, accurately and efficiently with the help of the high-tech CNC machineries imported from Europe which are linked with sophisticated computer software,” he adds.
Commenting about some of the major developments over the past year, he says: “With the expected activity increase, we have increased our workforce by 50 per cent last year compared to 2006, and we have acquired several machineries such as shearing and punching machines, cable tray punching machine, pipe notching machines and welding machines.”
Tosmac’s main activities include the design and fabrication of steel towers, general steel fabrication, lighting poles and electrical crossarm brackets and sandblasting galvanised steel.
Tosmac was established in 2005 in partnership with Consulting and Design Engineering/Tower Specialist Division (CDE/TSD), a leading engineering and consulting firm dealing with complete detailed designing of GSM telecommunication sites which includes civil, structural, electrical; mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) works; complete site survey including towers survey; tower analysis both for guyed and selfsupport types; custom-designed towers; preparing drawings for fabricating towers and complete site construction projects.
The company offers an extensive range of products including self-supporting towers (ranging from 10 to 120 m); tower extensions for existing towers; guyed towers; electrical transmission towers; LV/HV (low and high voltage) cross-arm brackets, braces and accessories; street lighting poles; rooftop penetrating towers; rooftop non-penetrating square-base towers; antenna mounts and accessories; shelter/tower spread bearing support framings; ETM sites assemblies; outdoor equipment sheds; satellite/microwave dish stands; access ladders and ladders with cage; general steel fabrication commercial pylons, warehouse plants, structural building and roof framings, perimeter steel fences and gates as well as sandblasting galvanisation works.
