
Al Houssain and Al Afaliq Com-pany (Haco), a manufacturer of readymix concrete blocks and aggregate products, has recently opened two new branches in Saudi Arabia in Khurais and Qurayyah and is set to open another branch in Jubail at the end of this month, in order to cater to the increased demands from the construction sector of the region.
“With so many infrastructure and development projects being planned over the next couple of years, we are looking forward to boost our presence in the regional building construction industry and increase our market share,” says Sulaiman Al Afaliq, general manager of the company.
“We have been awarded a number of prestigious projects recently which include the Al Ahsa tunnel. This project presented the challenge of having to pour 3,000 cu m of concrete below sea level within just 18 hours in order to construct this tunnel,” Al Afaliq he says.
Established in 1976 as one of the first readymix concrete suppliers in Al Ahsa, Haco has over the years built a reputation for reliability, quick service and high-quality products. The company, which is staffed with around 600 employees, has 14 plants and is equipped with more than 120 mixers and 40 pumps.
Haco has completed a number of projects for various clients in the recent past including the improvement of sea water inlet at Qurayyah power plant for Raymond Saudi Arabia; Aramco gas plant expansion for Contracting and Trading Company (CAT); Sceco Qurayyah plant expansion for Arabian Bemco Contraction Company; Aramco plant expansion in Hawyyah for Mac Kettaneh Joint Venture; Aramco project in Khurais for Contracting and Construction Enterprises, modernisation of Abqaiq plant for the Mohammed Al Mojil group; Haradh gas plant industrial support facilities and downstream pipelines for Saudi Construction Establishment and Tekfen Construction, respectively and Al Ahsa link to Dammam-Riyadh Expressway for Nassir Bin Hazza and Brothers Company; among a host of other developments.
