Over the past year, Jeddah-based Batterjee Security Products says it has made considerable headway in its “strategy for growth” transforming into a larger, more competitive company focused on the electronics, security and telecommunications market.

“We are a long-standing and experienced company of repute that is growing steadily on account of its strong commitment to quality and service. We have a highly satisfactory track record for quality services and contracting expertise,” says Samir Khayat, executive manager of the company, which specialises in security, safety, communication and audio-visual systems.
The company, which recently opened a new office in Dubai, counts its appointment as the sole distributor in Saudi Arabia for LG Electronics’ range of security products as one of its major successes last year.
As a total surveillance solution provider, LG offers a complete line-up for cameras, DVRs (digital video recorders), monitors, lenses and controllers to be used for total security systems for buildings in the region.
“The high quality and excellent reliability of products from the Korean electronics giant will enable us to take a leading position in the Saudi market. The company is also launching a new DVR series which features an internal super multi-DVD drive that will enable customers to use any CD or DVD for back-up. In the future, LG will also have full line-up of network surveillance systems as well as analogue systems,” he says.
Currently, Batterjee Security Products offer a range of equipment that include devices launched by LG for the first time in the Saudi markets such as security surveillance cameras, sensors, warning devices, recorders and other digital security accessories.
“Consumer confidence in LG’s products has matured to a level that sustains the momentum of demand. We have already successfully installed systems in prominent stores throughout the kingdom that include security products, such as CCTV surveillance cameras, anti-theft systems and other related products. We not only sell and install the products, but also provides after-sales services, including training clients on how to make the most of its security products,” adds Abdulmajeed Batterjee, co-owner of the company.
Batterjee Security Products is now looking at expanding its reach within Saudi Arabia and to the other GCC markets and further expanding its product portfolio.
“Among our growth plans for this year, we intend to bid for and execute those significant projects where we can perform in a manner that is both superior to our competitors and economical. At Batterjee Security Products, we will continue to actively participate in the successful implementation of the various projects, in particular, and to the economic aspirations of Saudi Arabia in general,” says Khayat.
Commenting on the Saudi market, he adds: “Saudi Arabia is a highly competitive market, so we have had to quickly move away from just offering traditional services. We are now one of the leading players in the region’s safety and security sector and the response to LG security products in the market has been very encouraging.
“The local market for security equipment has tremendous potential for expansion. With safety and security becoming highly important in today’s life, experts predict that the annual growth will continue to increase on account of the rising economy. Our business has seen an exponential growth in 2007 over the previous year with the addition of value-added products and services.”
Established in 1981 in Riyadh as part of the AM Batterjee Group, Batterjee Security Products is headquartered in Jeddah, with regional offices in Riyadh, Al Khobar and Dubai and main warehouses in Jeddah and Riyadh.
