Al Redwan Engineering and Contracting Company specialises in construction (civil and electromechanical) of a diverse range of projects including residential and commercial buildings, housing compounds, bridges, road, airports, hospitals and hotels.

The company has so far completed projects worth SR2.5 billion ($666.67 million). This year, it has undertaken projects in Hasa, Madinah. Al Qassim and Makkah worth SR250 million. The company is keen to expand its business in the Kingdom as well as overseas.

Apart from construction, the company is working on oil and gas, power and Aramco contracts. "We are a registered contractor with Aramco and we are bidding for several projects," says Eng Abdul Halim Saidan, director, planning and development. "Over the next couple of years, we expect to secure some projects outside the Kingdom. Our international division is actively working in this direction and is in the process of submitting bids for them."

Commenting on the state of the market, he says: "Construction is a continuous process. While we do not have the boom of the past, new requirements always call for new construction. There are several government and private sector projects in the pipeline. A number of oil and gas projects are expected to be launched over the next couple of years and we are are very optimistic of growth."

Al Redwan Engineering and Contracting Company is part of Al Redwan Holding Company of Jeddah which also enfolds Al Redwan Medical Company, Al Redwan Woodworks Company and Al Redwan Ready Mix. The group has a total staff of 5,000. The company was established in 1976 and has offices in Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim and Hasa.
