The Saudi capital Riyadh will host one of the premier construction products exhibition later this year.
SaudiBuild 2000, the 12th International Building Construction Technology and Building Materials Show will be held from October 29 to November 2 at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre.
Concurrently, Saudi Stone 2000, the third International Stone and Stone Technology Exhibition will also be held. The exhibitions are organised by Riyadh Exhibitions Company (REC).
Shahid M Bhatti, project manager for REC, said: "The Kingdom is in the midst of a second building boom. The multi-billion dollar boom involves more than 200 major projects that are under way, including government facilities, roads, electricity and water projects, shopping centres, office buildings, hospitals, airports, hotels, restaurants, housing compounds and new industrial cities and factories.
"Riyadh is the fastest growing city in the region. It has already grown eight-fold over the last two decades and is expected to almost double in size from 3.3 million inhabitants to 6 million in less than six years," he said.
SaudiBuild 2000 offers suppliers of building materials and technologies a unique opportunity to expand existing business and develop new ones in the region's most important market, Bhatti elaborates. The show will also feature a series of presentations on the latest technology and products as well as seminars.
Last year, the show attracted more than 400 exhibitors from 23 countries and 23,000 trade visitors from throughout Saudi Arabia, other GCC states and neighbouring countries.
