MSS 1102 Pro allows for all-electric operation, scoring highly with regard to sustainability.

German construction machinery manufacturer Kleemann, part of the Germany-based Wirtgen Group, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of its new mobile scalping screen, the Mobiscreen MSS 1102 Pro, which promises high output, simple operability and excellent ergonomics.

Thanks to its Dual Power drive, the machine allows for all-electric operation, scoring highly with regard to sustainability, the company states.

The new unit expands Kleemann’s range of mobile scalping screens above the existing Mobiscreen MSS 802 Evo. Its robust design includes a large feed hopper and an 11.2-sq-m screen casing, enabling a feed capacity of up to 750 tonnes per hour.

Kleemann says the machine boasts flexibility, with stepless adjustment of conveyor belt speeds and easy conversion between two and three final grain sizes. The screen casing angle can be adjusted from 12.5 to 17.0 degrees, allowing for high screening capacity and product quality. A wide selection of screening media supports various applications, including finger decks for clayey soil and square mesh for decorative grit. Mixed screen deck coverings are also possible.

Overall, the new plant offers comprehensive configuration diversity to impress as a standalone machine or in conjunction with additional Kleemann plants, says the company.

The MSS 1102 Pro features intuitive plant control designed to reduce operating errors and learning time. Key functions can be operated remotely for enhanced safety. An optional Spective radio remote control facilitates operation of the screening plant, controlling the driving function and plant settings, as well as the speed of the hopper discharge conveyor and other functions like the water spray system.

Kleemann also announced the availability of Spective Connect for its screening plants. This digital application provides operators with real-time data, including speed, consumption values, and fill levels, on their smartphones. A stockpile monitoring function alerts operators when predefined material stockpile levels are reached, improving workflow and productivity.

The MSS 1102 Pro is designed for ease of maintenance, with good accessibility to all relevant components, lubrication points, and cleaning solutions. Screening media can be easily accessed and exchanged via wide work platforms and a horizontally adjustable screen casing. Easily accessible tank nozzles on both sides of the plant simplify refuelling, even if one side of the plant is difficult to reach, for example due to a ramp or blasted pile, according to Kleemann.

The optional electro-hydraulic Dual Power drive allows for emission-free on-site operation when powered electrically. When running on diesel, a load-controlled fan reduces noise and fuel consumption. Water spraying at the discharge conveyors helps to significantly lower dust emissions, ensuring better working conditions for plant operators and higher levels of acceptance by local residents.
