

Following its successful participation in the prestigious Mina Tent project, Ali Abdulmohsin Al Tamimi Sons Company is looking at new markets for its products.
The Tamimi Company, established in 1948, is currently undertaking feasibility studies for other lines of business, including exports to the US and Europe, says company spokesman Domeng Mangune.
The company is involved in tents construction, tensioned structure fabric, awnings, military tents and accessories, various type of tarpaulins and refugee tents.
Tamimi has its head office in Riyadh and a branch in Makkah. It employs about 140 staff.
The Mina Tent City Project (Phase 2) in Makkah involved the fabrication of 1.4 million sq m of PTFE fabric. It was undertaken to provide flame-proof tents for pilgrims during the Haj season in Mina City. This project was completed in three months employing more than 1,000 workers including technicians and engineers.
"We are honoured to have participated in this historic project which is considered to be the largest tent camp in the world," says the spokesman.

Commenting on market trends, Mangune says business has been favourable over the past two years due to the company's involvement in the Mina Tent City project. In addition, the company also undertook some structural projects in the Kingdom.
The company has launched a marketing campaign in the Middle East to promote its products, highlighting its long experience in the tents and structural fabric field.
"The construction sector has been active during the past year and we expect it to be busier in the future due to the opening up of tourism sector and the expected foreign investment flow to the Kingdom," says the spokesman.
