Al-Kifah for Batching Plants, which claims to be the only concrete batching plant manufacturer in the entire GCC region, is planning expansion.
"During the past year, we have seen an increased demand for our high quality locally-produced concrete batching plants and associated equipment. This has resulted in an increase of approximately 50 per cent in our turnover last year," says Abdul Rahman Al-Katheer, general manager.
"Due to this increase and projected future increase in turnover, we are now in the process of increasing our production area and facilities by 130 per cent," he says.
The company, established in 1993 with its head office and factory based in Hasa Industrial City, is part of the Al-Kifah Group.
Al-Kifah manufactures complete concrete batching plants and associated equipment which includes conveyors, hoppers, silos, aggregate washing plants and transit mixer drums and chutes.
The company also carries out refurbishment and modernisation of existing concrete batching plants with computerised batching systems and load cell conversions.
To satisfy and meet customers' requirements, Al-Kifah has established an engineering and design office in the UK named Al-Kifah Design and Export where these requirements are studied by specialist engineers and machines are designed accordingly to meet clients' satisfaction, he says.
"Service is one of Al-Kifah's main concerns and resident technicians are available with all spare parts to carry out the necessary repairs anywhere within the GCC in order to minimise customer's losses and breakdown times," he continues.
Al-Kifah for Batching Plants also represents the following international companies:
Al-Kifah plays a big role in the rapid growth of the construction business in Saudi Arabia since it provides the industry with the essential tools and equipment for the production of concrete and its by-products, says Al-Katheer.
The company is now poised to erect, supply and deliver one Setbatch 300/-5/150/3MT, valued at $340,000, to Al-Hasa Readymix, which is the approved supplier of readymixed concrete for Saudi Aramco's gas plant project in Hawiyah.
And in the export market, in line with Al-Kifah for Batching Plants' expansion programme, it will produce, deliver and erect for the first time in Bahrain one Setbatch 300/5-150/3M for Awal Readymix Concrete Company.
Projects which the company has completed over the past year include:
The company, which employs 40 personnel (administration and production), has a turnover of $3.5 million.
Al-Kifah will exhibiting at the InterBuild, Egypt (from June 22 - 26) and in the Saudi Building Industries Exhibition 2000, Jeddah, later this year.
Al-Khateer hopes for a buoyant construction sector this year.
