Awal Bath – a leading manufacturer of hydro massage bathtubs and steam cabinets for exclusive bathrooms and a business division of the Awal Fiberglass Company — will be returning for the third successive time to the Big 5 show, after a successful innings last year where it received several enquiries from all over the UAE.
At this year’s edition, the company will be promoting a range of new products for sophisticated hospitality and residential addresses. This will include an innovative spa bath - which can accommodate six people at a time.
“We are the first and only manufacturer to produce such a spa bath in the region,” says Nader Al Jasmi, a spokesperson for Awal Bath.
A steam enclosure and roll-top baths are two other new products to be displayed at the show.
“We feel that the Big 5 is an ideal international platform for us to showcase our product portfolio since there are a lot of visitor from distributors from most of the Gulf countries as well as India, Iran and other countries worldwide. Also, with the current boom in construction projects across the UAE, we have been able to establish many new business contacts at the show last year and hope to do the same this year,” says Al Jasmi.
Established in 1991 in Bahrain with a manufacturing facility spread over 16,000 sq m, Awal Bath’s current portfolio includes acrylic bathtubs, spas, steam cabinets, shower enclosures, hydro massage bathtubs, free-standing bathtubs, roll-top bathtubs and shower trays.
Elaborating on the company’s products, he says: “Awal bathroom products have outstanding features, which have led to their popularity in bathrooms across the region,” he says. “They are manufactured from the highest standard of cast acrylic sheet imported from the UK and all other equipment like steam generators, control panels and hydro massage parts and pumps used are also imported from Europe and conform to all the safety standards. Most of the products have various options and combinations with regard to whirlpool baths and steam enclosure.”
Some of these varied options will be show for the first time to the trade visitors at the Big 5 show, he adds.
Awal Bath supplies most of its products directly to the sanitary ware distributor and contractors across the Gulf.
The company has expanded its sales network to cover the region and has distribution centres in Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE.
“To meet the surging demand from the UAE, we have recently opened a new sales office in Sharjah, which has a distribution warehouse with an area of 1,500 sq m. This facility is responsible for distribution within the UAE,” he says.
“Business has been looking up steadily increasing year on year over the last six years by up to 15 per cent. This is a direct result of a strong management and sales team at the helm. We are focusing on the market in the Gulf countries, where projects and construction activity is at its peak. We strongly believe that the level of growth will increase by at least another 10 per cent over the coming decade,” concludes Al Jasmi.
The company is currently has a staff of around 150 employees and enjoys an annual turnover of $12 million.
Awal Bath will be present at Stand G307 at the Big 5 show.
