Big 5 Special

Strong response

Boosted by the response received at last year’s show, Austria-based dauser Industries Holding will arrive at this year’s Big 5 with products from its main business line — which is water and waste water treatment systems — and also from its trading sector.

“This year we will be armed with a number of reference projects for our waste water treatment plants in the UAE. We also intend to promote several products from our trading division that will include: safety products, membrane diffusers, adhesives, oil-skimmers, product filtration, and water filter cartridges,” says marketing manager Petra Fleischhacker.
“Last year, we elicited a strong response to our stand and could make some really useful business contacts. We intend to generate a similar response for our products this year as well,” she says.
dauser recently opened its office in Dubai in association with regional partner Envicon Emirates.
This new office will enable us to respond to the market and customer requirements more effectively and enable us to establish a strong presence in Dubai, which will in turn allow us to expand into newer geographies in the region,” Fleischhacker says.
The Dubai office will focus on product trading, which includes distribution of high-quality adhesives for the construction sector, dust and gas masks for occupational safety, as well as filter cartridges, oil skimmers and membrane diffusers as special components for effective water and waste water treatment, says Fleischhacker.
In addition, the office will serve to attract new orders for setting up waste treatment plants from the region.
“We have already carried out some interesting projects in the UAE and want to improve on our business there. The UAE, especially Dubai, is a very interesting and promising market for us,” she adds.
Last year, dauser completed its first project in the UAE, which was a waste water treatment plant for a dairy farm in Al Ain. The project involved the treatment of wastewater that was generated daily from the farm in a chemical-physical and biological wastewater treatment plant, so that the treated water could be used for irrigation purposes. “The successful completion of this project helped us establish a good reputation in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi,” says Fleischhacker.
She adds: “This year we plan to complete the construction of a waste oil treatment plant in Dubai. Together with Dubai Municipality, we have designed a special plant for treating a mixture of oil, water and sludge to gain biological fuel, compost and irrigation water. This plant is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“We are also involved in the construction of a special plant for treating fuel-contaminated waste water in Abu Dhabi, which will be completed this month (November). The project was technically challenging as it involved the removal of methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), a volatile, flammable and colourless chemical compound that is hazardous to the environment.”
Apart from these projects, the company has also been involved in several other projects in Britain and Eastern Europe.
“This apart, we have been consistently trying to develop our position in our home market as well. Our growing reputation and market penetration, as well as the existing volume of business in the Austrian market, has helped ensure a constant growth of turnover. However, we are focusing on export markets, because over 80 per cent of our turnover has been as a result of our export activities.”
Established in Austria in 1998, dauser is specialised in the design, construction, delivery and installation of water, wastewater treatment systems and distribution of special product components.
The company caters to the requirements of Europe’s leading suppliers for tailor-made solutions in the environmental technology and renewable energy sectors and has carried out more than 90 successful projects in Austria and abroad.
“We are specialised in design, construction, delivery and installation of water/wastewater treatment and residue processing systems — from equipment supplies to turnkey solutions,” says Fleischhacker.
dauser’s activities are organised in two separate corporate divisions: one which specialises in customised plant construction with turnkey installations and the other which deals in product trading as a market partner of the plant constructors and the industry.
“In the water treatment sector, our product line ranges from process water treatment to waste water treatment (chemical, physical, biological and mechanical) to sludge treatment. In the product trading sector we are specialised in distributing special product components for the environmental and construction sectors,” says Fleischhacker.
The company’s main field of activity include: food and beverage production; chemistry and petrochemistry; processing industry (textile, leather, wood, paper, metals etc); power plants; service and disposal branch (tank cleaning, conveyance, waste treatment, landfill and waste incineration); and municipal sewage treatment.
“At dauser, we combine innovative plant design and high-quality components and develop customised, technologically-enhanced solutions on economically-attractive terms. Backed by qualified engineering systems and professional pilot installation testing it has been possible for us to solve even the most complex problems in water, wastewater and sludge treatment,” says Fleischhacker.
dauser Industries Holding will be present at Stand 3 C 121.
