The Ferroli Group returns to the Big 5 show this year to put the spotlight on its newly extended family of HiTherm water heaters alongside its wide range of products targeted at the water heating and refrigeration engineering and climate control sectors.
“The Ferroli Group is one of the largest multinational companies in Europe in the field of residential and industrial water heating and refrigeration engineering,” says Maurizio Baldassarre, marketing and technical coordination of Ferroli HiTherm residential Water Heating Engineering (WHE) Division in the Gulf. “As a multinational, our plants and commercial offices are located in Italy and other European and overseas countries, under the coordination of the company’s Study and Research Development Office in Italy, which ensures that the group’s industrial standards are applied throughout.”
The HiTherm brand incorporates the group’s advanced engineering technology in the field of domestic and industrial water heaters and calorifiers. “The range includes the traditional residential electric enamelled water heater that is glass-lined at Ferroli’s Italian enamelling plant under a strict electronically-controlled process at 870 deg C and using exclusive Italian chemicals. The final product, which is tested, approved and certified by the German TUV institute, comes in capacities ranging from 5 to 300 litres,” Baldassarre says.
The manufacturing process is largely automated and controlled by a computerised monitoring system.
“Tough internal tests are conducted to ensure that the HiTherm product is extremely solid, long lasting and reliable, and can also be submitted to any laboratory hard stressing test. HiTherm complies with EU norms IEC EN 60335-2-21 2003 and several other marks of quality in Europe and overseas. In the GCC, HiTherm has approvals from the Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation (Saso) and Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (Esma),” he says.
Ferroli has extended the HiTherm residential range this year to include:
• The new family of ‘Space Saving’ heaters, which has horizontal models designed specifically to fit within the limited space of the false ceilings. These appliances also overcome the traditional handicap of a 35 per cent loss in thermal efficiency typical of the horizontal configuration, with an extraordinary 100 per cent heating efficiency, thanks to the new heating ‘z’ element specially designed for reduced sizes;
• The 200 and 300-litre floor-standing SQ series;
• The remote-controlled HE series, which is easy to programme for the economic night-energy-saving-hours. Its 24-hour temperature control feature enables operating the heating only in the selected desired hours (generally the night-low-cost-cycle);
• The stand-alone anode, generally used in large industrial calorifiers, introduced this year for the first time in HiTherm medium-sized residential ranges. Baldassarre elaborates: “We introduced the stand-alone anode in HiTherm medium-sized heaters, making the brand the first and only one with this technically superior device and performance. By relocating the stand-alone anode far from the heating element, the unit benefits from a considerable reduction in thermo-electromagnetic interaction between the element and the anode itself, with a consequent improvement in durability and resistance against corrosive agents present in water such as salt and acids. The result is a prolonged life of the anode and an increased protection of the inner tank; and
• The ‘dual anode’ for the ET series of heaters, which increases further the product’s anti-corrosive properties against chemicals and extends the appliance life
With a 2006 turnover of €630 million ($890 million), Ferroli is a leader in the manufacture and marketing domestic and industrial gas and electric water heating, refrigeration and climate control equipment and technology.
The main distinction of the group is its ongoing research and development of new technologies and products that are aimed at ensuring cost and energy savings as well as comfort, which has resulted in the group’s rapid growth over the past 50 years.
Ferroli will be present at the Big 5 2007, Hall 7 — Stand 7C301.
