Welser Profile, a leading European supplier of profiles, will be at the Big 5 show to promote itself as a competent partner for innovation in steel.
“Profiles made by Welser Profile are used worldwide, indicating the operational reliability of the products and the company’s sophisticated manufacturing technology,” says a spokesman for the company which supplies specially-shaped open sections and fully-welded tubes made of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals for virtually all sectors of industry.
The firm employs more than 1,550 employees at its production centres in Ybbsitz and Gresten, both in Austria and Bönen in Germany and at its 11 international sales offices.
As a family-run business with a long-standing tradition, Welser has been shaping steel since 1664, developing innovative, application-orientated solutions for profiles in close cooperation with its customers. As a result, it develops an average of five new sections per day while its highly-efficient production facilities have an output of more than 130 million m of sections a year. More than 50 roll-forming lines process steel strips in thicknesses of 0.4 to 8 mm and of up to 800 mm width into open sections and tubes.
Welser products can be found almost everywhere, says the spokesman.
“One of the most important sectors is the construction industry — covering everything from preliminary building works (formwork/concrete shuttering, scaffolding, etc) and building design (façade, window and door systems) to interior design (ceiling systems, partition walls, lights and office furniture).
They also find application in other fields such as air-conditioning (louvres and dampers), environment technology (participator plates and frames for solar units) and construction machines (frames for safety drivers’ cabins) were Welser profiles play a crucial role.
“The superior material and surface quality of Welser profiles make them suitable for the high stress and extreme weather conditions that they are subjected to in the industry. This is because sections made of steel and stainless steel have a high load-bearing capacity, are durable and impact resistant. Furthermore, stainless steel is a versatile material in terms of design and visually attractive architecture. Therefore, architects and design engineers rely on this important material.
“It is hard to imagine façade, door and window systems, facings in interior and exterior work and handrails without stainless steel. These advantages in terms of technical and aesthetic aspects are good reasons to favour steel over aluminum — and hence Welser’s profiles,” the spokesman concludes.
