

In an effort to promote greater cooperation between Turkey and the region, the Turkish contingent will be making its presence felt in two separate national pavilions spread over a 1,395 sq m total area at the Big 5 this year, showcasing the product range of 78 leading companies in the country.
“Being one of the main drivers of private and public investments, construction is one of the key sectors in Turkey. The concepts of advanced technology, on-time delivery, quick response, high quality, use of reasonably priced labour, and equipment and building materials of international standards have enabled the Turkish construction sector to compete throughout the world,” says Pinar Ozpak, a spokesperson for Export Promotion Center of Turkey (Igeme).
“Today, Turkish construction and engineering companies are able to design, erect, build and operate almost all kinds of civil and industrial projects such as dams, hydroelectric and thermal power plants, industrial plants, airports and seaports, large-scale petroleum and natural gas pipelines, fertiliser plants, petrochemical complexes and refineries, motorways, tunnels, bridges, large housing projects, hotels and all kinds of sophisticated buildings.
“Turkish contractors have achieved a volume of work exceeding $89 billion within the last 34 years in 65 foreign countries spread over four continents,” he adds.
Spearheading the Turkish participation in the Big 5 show this year are the Prime Ministry’s under-secretariat of foreign trade and the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association (IMMIB) and the Igeme.
Some of the major products to be exhibited at the two Turkish pavilions include marble, travertine and limestone tiles and slabs, other kinds of natural stones, kitchen utensils and furniture, ceramic sanitary ware, saunas, cabin systems, plastic, steel and aluminium doors and windows, plastic profiles, plastic pipes and fittings, plastic and aluminium processing machines, plastic pipe welding and cutting machines and cutting and bending machines for reinforcing bars.
Other products promoted at the show include industrial storage systems, wires, mesh wires and fences, forged iron accessories, iron manhole covers, steel angles, rounds and bars, bolts and anchors, water tanks, pressure tanks, closed expansion vessels, pumps, valves, industrial coolers, flexible ventilation ducts, flexible hoses, water treatment plants, concrete batching plants concrete block production machines, aerated concrete blocks, concrete and aggregate testing equipment, plate compactors, asphalt cutting machines, steel components, prefabricated buildings, roofing materials, rubber gaskets and seals, electric hand tools, paint brushes and electronic security systems.
The Turkish pavilion will be located in Hall 7 as well as the Sheikh Maktoum Hall at the Big 5 show.
