Big 5 Special

Meeting demand

Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar, the exclusive dealer for Caterpillar in the Middle East, will be participating for the first time in the PMV (Plant, Machinery and Vehicles) section of the Big 5.

The company will be highlighting the various products it markets at its stand in the Airport Expo, which will be the venue of the PMV exhibition.
“One of the latest products that we are bringing to the Middle East market – though it won’t be shown at the PMV show – is Caterpillar’s H180Ds hydraulic hammer, which is designed to improve productivity, reliability and serviceability in the demolition industry,” says Sudhir Tripathi, marketing manager, Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar, which represents Caterpillar in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.
“There is a big demand for hammers in the UAE and Qatar and we will be soon introducing this new model to our customers. So far, we have had a positive feedback on it and the incoming initial stocks are expected to get sold well ahead of or soon after their arrival in this market.”
Caterpillar has increased the size of the piston and tool in its latest hydraulic hammer H180Ds, which has resulted in an overall improvement of productivity by more than 15 per cent in comparison to the H180 S hammer that has been replaced by the company.
“With blasting being limited in many areas, large hammers are now more than ever a determining factor for production in quarries, construction and demolition sites,” says Scott Graham, senior project engineer, Caterpillar Impact Products.
“With the hammer being the key to productivity on any job site, any unscheduled downtime stops the production. Therefore, reliability and durability are key factors in the design of the D-series hammers with a focus on ease of maintenance and lower operating costs.”
“This hammer model is the fourth addition to the successful D-series range in the past year and emphasises our solid presence in the hammer industry, besides also being a major step forward in bringing breakthrough solutions to the market,” Graham concludes.
