Big 5

At the cutting edge

Anjani’s waterjet cutting machines ... advanced technology.

India-based Anjani Technoplast is poised to make its maiden appearance at the Big 5, where it anticipates a good response to its range of CNC (computerised numeric control) waterjet cutting machines and hydraulic presses.

“We are looking at promoting our waterjet cutting technology to customers in the Middle East,” says Sudhir Agarwal, deputy general manager of the machine tools division. “Waterjets offer an advanced technique to cut any material like marble, ceramic, glass and steel that is used in building construction.”
Commenting on what prompted the company to exhibit at the Big 5 show, he says: “The Middle East is a rapidly growing market for CNC waterjet cutting machines, given the large number of mega shopping malls, airports and other infrastructures that are currently taking shape in the region. Hence we are hopeful of finding a good market for our products here and boost our sales even further.”
As the top manufacturer in this line of business in India, Anjani Technoplast has shown excellent performance particularly in CNC waterjet cutting machines.
“We have sold machines to the defence industries as well as for the building industries,” says Agarwal.
Encouraged by the market response to its products, the company has recently set up its fourth and largest manufacturing plant near Delhi over a 200,000 sq ft area.
Established in 1988 as a small thermoforming company, Anjani Technoplast has today become a well-known name in the field of plastic products, precision engineering component manufacturing, and ballistic protection. Its pioneering spirit and its engineering capabilities have been the key factors in its growth and diversifications, says a spokesman for the company.
Its areas of expertise include: thermoforming, extrusion, sheet metal stamping, injection moulding, compression moulding, dies and moulds manufacturing, engineering assemblies, machine manufacturing as well as provision of solutions for engineering design and ballistic protection. It also provides a variety of CNC machine tools, mini machine tools, milling machine tools, CNC machining centre, CNC milling machines and services.
Anjani has extended its capabilities in plastics to include plastic sheet extrusion, injection moulding and compression moulding. Its modern machine shop and state-of-the-art tool room have established the company as a quality manufacturer of precision engineering components and dies and moulds.
“Anjani’s pioneering spirit became evident when it entered the field of personal ballistic protection products by bringing the world’s lightest and strongest material to India, and when it became the first company in the country to manufacture five-axis CNC waterjet cutting machine,” he points out.
Spread over four locations and employing over 300 personnel, the company is now organised in three divisions: component manufacturing, machine tools and ballistic protection. The machine tools division manufactures a range of models in the Nanojet series comprising three-axis and five-axis waterjet cutting machines.
Equipped with a large state-of-the-art manufacturing set-up with over 350 industrial machines, Anjani serves customers in white goods, material handling, electrical products and machine tools industries in addition to various government agencies in India and overseas.
Anjani has also established a subsidiary in the US to meet the growth needs in the region.
“At Anjani, our corporate ethos revolves around one goal – customer satisfaction. Anjani maintains high standards in manufacturing quality and customer service and our manufacturing processes are certified by TUV Suddeuschland for ISO 9001:2000,” he says.
Although it has attained an eminent ranking in its sphere of activities, the company is not resting on its laurels but has been engaged in developing new products to serve the needs of the market and expanding its network.
“We are in process of developing a robotic waterjet cutting machine as well as a portable waterjet cutting machine,” Agarwal says. “We are also planning to expand our sales network to all metropolises of India as well as to Dubai within the next six months.”
Anjani Technoplast will be present at Stand No ZG-22 at the Big 5.
