Wesper ... a leading brand in the group’s portfolio.

The Airwell Group from France, which has recently launched a new range of ducted indoor units using DC inverter technology under its renowned Airwell brand, will be promoting a wide range of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) products from its different brands at the Big 5 show.

Founded in 1947, the Airwell Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of room air-conditioners and central air-conditioning systems. With renowned brands such as Airwell, Wesper, Electra and Polenz, the group has five production sites worldwide located in France, Italy, China and Argentina.
Its Wesper brand, which was established in 1948, is one of the leaders in central air-conditioning systems.
Speaking on the group’s strengths, area sales manager Vincent Morel, says, “Over the years, the Airwell Group has acquired an expertise and a know-how that enables it to develop a broad range including direct expansion and reversible chilled water technologies starting from 2 KW and up to 1,700 KW.
Thanks to its corporate culture based on innovation and customers’ focus, the company is now a major supplier of air distribution equipment designed for various types of application, from movable air-conditioners, via innovative inverter split technology to environment-friendly chilled water systems. In Europe, Airwell Group has indeed become the second supplier for air handling units and the third for fan coils.”
Commenting on the advantages of Airwell’s new ducted indoor units, vice president marketing and communication Bernd Oehlerking, says: “The main advantages of the innovative system named DLF DCI are its ‘low silhouette’ compact design, extremely low noise levels combined with high energy efficiency and easy installation. Furthermore, the units provide unequalled comfort for users due to the uniform treated air distribution and optimal filtration quality.”
DLF DCI ducted units have been designed to make installation easier and to meet the requirement of both installers and users. Due to their compact dimensions and extremely low height of only 200 mm, the concealed units blend perfectly into even the tightest suspended ceilings, Oehlerking points out. Additionally, horizontal pipe lengths of up to 50 m between indoor and outdoor units as well as up to 30 m vertical distance ensure maximum flexibility.
“Inverter technology and the latest generation of rotary compressors combined with the refrigerant R-410A guarantee high energy efficiency at extremely low noise levels (down to 25 dBA only), according to him. For the end-user, this means energy savings up to 30 per cent and highest comfort due to ultra-quiet operation,” says Oehlerking.
The DLF DCI range is available with nominal capacities of 2.5 kW up to 7.0 kW in cooling and heating mode. The minimum EER (cooling mode) at full load conditions is 3.25 and the maximum EER is 4.0. The minimum COP (heating mode) is 3.47 and the maximum COP is 3.9.
“According to the EU directive 2002/31/EC about energy labels for air-conditioners, the DLF DCI range has been classified as ‘A’, which means most efficient from an energetic point of view (except DLF 18DCI is B),” he says. “All capacity ratings and performance data have been certified by Eurovent. Furthermore, the entire DLF DCI range is characterised by a large operating range from -10 deg C to 46 deg C outside temperatures for cooling purposes and from -15 deg C to 24 deg C outside temperatures for heating purposes.”
Another advantage for installers and end users is the possibility to install an AircoNet control system, according to Oehlerking. “By using a communication gateway, several DLF indoor units can be connected and controlled via a simple Internet navigator. This ensures not only a centralised management of the units, but also reduced energy bills due to closer consumption control. To install and use the AircoNet control system, no special software is required. Users and installers have instant access to the running state of their air conditioning system.”
The Airwell Group will be located at Stand 4D152.
