Turning on the heat

The Atlantic Group, a French manufacturer and European leader of domestic water heaters and heating comfort solutions, will be launching its solar water heater solutions on the Gulf market at the Big 5 show.

Displaying its premium range of water heaters and solar panels, the Atlantic Group will be targeting the region’s domestic and hospitality sector for its products.
The range includes both electro-solar and hydro-solar solutions that are fully optimised to constantly maximise the benefits from solar energy while continuing to provide the comfort of hot water. For ease of design and installation, the range includes a tank pack and a solar panel pack.
The tank pack includes a hydro/electric solar tank and a pre-assembled solar station. The solar panel pack includes flat sensors and assembly devices.
Benefiting from Atlantic’s 40 years of expertise in manufacturing enamelled water heater tanks, the solar water-heaters combine performance and comfort for the end-user.  The range includes high quartz density enamelled indirect water heaters, in capacities of 300 or 400 litres.
Describing some of the features of the heater that ensure its high performance, the spokesperson says: “A coil is positioned at the bottom part of the tank, for maximum thermal exchange and efficiency  in providing hot water, while s solar station, designed in conformity to EU standards, provides optimum regulation and protects the installation against overheating. The solar panels, which are designed in accordance with German standards, have an absorber with a Tinox cover, glass which has minimal iron contact, and ultrasound welding, among other features. The water heaters have an additional dry ceramic heating element with low charge per sq cm for durability in regions that use desalinated water, such as the Gulf region.”
Atlantic, which invests four per cent of its turnover in research and development (R&D) efforts, has developed this premium range, in line with its commitment to maintain high environmental standards and constant innovation. “We have created these products in line with the European spirit of protecting the environment; and maintaining quality standards that provide peace of mind for professionals and ultimate comfort for end-users,” the spokesperson says.
The Atlantic Group, which has a 3,000-plus staff and registered a turnover exceeding €690 million ($893 million) in 2007, distributes its products in more than 100 countries.
The Atlantic Group has been manufacturing and selling electric water heaters for domestic (Atlantic, Thermor, Pacific brands) and commercial use (Pacific) since 1968.
With a view to attaining leadership market positions for its different brands such as Atlantic, Ygnis and Thermor in targeted countries, the group has been focusing on its growth on the international arena.
“After an initial development phase in Western Europe, the group is now intensifying its efforts towards Eastern Europe and the Middle East in particular,” says the spokesperson.
