Flooring the conventional

Bolidt’s synthetics … diverse design possibilities.

Bolidt Synthetic Products & Systems will showcase several types of its Bolidtop synthetic flooring systems, which boast a wide range of design possibilities.

These diverse systems also offer protection and comfort features, such as slip, fire and chemical resistance and closed-pore surfaces and are suited for a wide range of applications in industrial settings as well as in public buildings, shipbuilding, sports and civil infrastructures.
Products from the Bolidtop range have already found application in the region.
“One of the prestigious projects completed in the Middle East, for instance, is the installation of its Bolidtop Sensation system at the Al Sadds sports club in Doha, Qatar,” says a spokesman for the company.
Bolidt brings with it almost 45 years of experience as an innovator, producer, supplier and installer of synthetic flooring systems.
Commenting on its rich heritage of innovation, a spokesman for the company says, “Bolidt was launched with the vision that synthetics offered many untapped possibilities. This basic principle has proved its worth since. Bolidt laid the foundation for a breakthrough, by replacing conventional materials like wood and metal with thermosetting synthetics. Not only for bridges, railroads and ships, but also for commercial and industrial buildings, flooring systems and roof car parks have been continuously innovated by Bolidt. This pioneering work has resulted in patents and recognition for the company.”
One of the latest innovations introduced by Bolidt is Esthec, which offers composite ship decks with improved properties and quality compared to decks of alternative materials such as teak, states the company.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, the company has subsidiaries in Belgium, Germany and the US. A leader in the domestic market, the company is also well known in foreign markets with a growing presence, according to the spokesperson.
With an eye on doubling its overseas sales figures within the next five years, Bolidt sees its participation at the Big 5 the perfect way to promote itself in the Middle East region. “The show is an excellent opportunity for us to increase our brand awareness as well as to directly meet and interact with potential leads and our current customers,” says the spokesperson.
Bolidt’s forte, according to him, is the strength of the material. “Thermosetting synthetics offer the best of two worlds. Functionality naturally comes first. Bolidt’s synthetics are wear resistant, maintenance friendly and, due to their elasticity, crack resistant. The material is pore free and therefore highly suitable for application in environments such as hospitals, where hygiene is a key issue. There are product versions that withstand corrosive solvents, are fire resistant, sound attenuating or heat insulating. There is a ready-made solution for every specific need.”
“Thermosetting synthetics are pre-eminently versatile materials. Our products can, therefore, be applied in diverse areas. Bolidt supplies wearing courses, grouting compounds and ship’s decks, as well as crash test dummies and façade panels, the spokesman explains.
These systems can be applied on any scale – from a single floor in a small-scale industrial building to an athletics track of Olympic proportions.
Also, because Bolidt’s synthetics are applied in liquid form, the resulting surface is seamless and smooth. Nearly all colours are available plain or multi-coloured. “Patterns can be created and mother-of-pearl added. In addition, a print or picture can also be incorporated. Even 3-D effects can be applied. The aesthetic possibilities are almost endless,” he concludes.
