An enhanced range of ETA-approved chemical anchors will be launched at the Big 5 show by Powers Fasteners Europe, a company specialising in the manufacture and marketing quality anchoring and fastening products for concrete, masonry, steel and wood.
The product is among more than 50 new lines introduced by the company last year and will be promoted alongside its extensive range of anchors.
Powers Fasteners products cover the full traditional anchoring range and include the widest range of mechanical, adhesive, powder actuated, and gas fastening systems on the market, says Ronald Engeringh, international sales representative of the company.
“We specialise in innovative products that provide the architect, engineer and end user with aesthetic, high-performance, labour-saving fastening solutions and fast technical advice. Our engineered products are manufactured to deliver consistent performance and are recognised as conforming with the latest building codes, approvals and other requirements,” he says.
Powers Fasteners offers innovative solutions in four separate disciplines – anchors, carbide, adhesive and powder.
One of its new, outstanding product in the past months is its blue tip screwbolts (concrete screws), which has acquired a new ETA option 1 approval.
Its improved range of chemical adhesives that will be launched next month include pure epoxies, which are chemical mortars with the highest load-bearing capacity and which do not shrink after curing. Pure epoxies are known to have a relatively high bond strength. These two advantages, according to the company, combine to make them fit for rebar and heavy structural applications.
Powers offers two types of pure epoxies: Pure150-Pro with ETA approval and Pure-2K Pure-150-Pro, which has an approval for three temperature ranges, for water-filled and dry/wet holes, threaded rods and rebars, embedment depths from ranging from 4 to 12 mm and anchor rods from M8-M30.
In vinylester, Powers offers AC100-Pro and AC150-Pro mortars that combine a fast working rate with high load values, according to a spokesman for the company. “AC100-Pro is approved for two temperature ranges, for water-filled and dry/wet holes, embedment depths from 4 to 20 mm and anchor rods from M8-M30. AC150-PRO has received an ETA approval for two temperature ranges, dry/wet holes, embedment depths from 4 to 12 mm and anchor rods from M8-M16.
Turning to its polyester mortars, the company says these are economic solutions to fasten medium weight applications in solid brick, hollow brick, sand lime stone and concrete and have a short curing time. CT50-Pro has a German approval for M8 and M10 anchors in solid and hollow brick.
In its new range, Powers offers two types of capsules: Capsule CS Plus spinning capsules which use vinylester and Hammer capsules which use epoxy acrylate.
The Hammer-Capsule System consists of a self contained, single-use, two-part glass capsule into which threaded anchor rod or reinforcing bars can be directly driven without the need for a chisel point or spinning action. It is designed for use in the installation of 3/8-inch through 1-inch diameter threaded rod in solid concrete and masonry materials. It can also be used to install reinforcing bars.
Besides the new range of anchors, the company will be introducing new chemical accessories such as ergonomic cartridge guns which are ideal for heavy usage and new steel cleaning brushes from 10 mm to 38 mm with SDS-connector, added to comply with the ETA-approval. These will complement its existing range of accessories consisting of threaded rods, brushes, blow pumps, nozzles and cartridge guns for chemical products.
