Going for gold

The new diamond cutter ... fast cutting.

Dutch manufacturer of diamond drilling and cutting equipment Adamas – along with its sister concern Core Powertools – will exhibit at the Big 5 show its highly successful range of diamond drilling equipment for reinforced concrete, which was introduced in the European market last year.

A highlight of its diamond drilling equipment display will be the special “Golden Edition” of its electric floor saw, an extremely fast cutting diamond tool for reinforced concrete, according to the company.
Adamas will also launch four new products in the Middle East market – its 2,500 W and 3,300 W drill motors, wall chaser and electric hand-held saw.
The firm also intends to launch an innovative marketing concept. “For our distributors, we will be introducing a new marketing concept at the show: DTX  Diamond Tool Xpert. It consists of a complete readymade website, with product documentation and a complete pricelist, all of which can be customised for our distributors,” says Danny van der Zwan, export marketing manager.
The drill motors that will be launched include the CX25 and the CX33 rig-mounted units.
Elaborating on these motors, he says: “The CX25 is the ultimate drill motor for drilling holes up to 250 mm in reinforced concrete. The motor features triple overload protection for operator and machine, a compact design for drilling close to the wall, and an attractive price-quality ratio. With the LED load indication, the motor can be used at maximum capacity. A flow indication in the waterhose indicates if sufficient cooling water is supplied, while the quick release ring on the drill shaft saves time during bit exchange.
“The CX33 drill motor is new concrete drilling equipment for the real professional. Using the motor, holes up to 350 mm diameter can be drilled in reinforced concrete quickly and easily. The robust gearbox, in combination with a powerful motor, makes drilling in reinforced concrete a simple job.  The unit does not require the use of spacer blocks due to the special design of the motor housing. The high gears enable this motor to also drill with small drill bit diameter, while the LED indication protects the machine from overload and guarantees a long life. Also, the quick release ring on the drill shaft saves time during bit exchange.
Meanwhile, the wall chaser – the SLX-150 – is a cutting-edge tool that is suitable for dry chasing in concrete and brickwork, which can cut 50 mm wide and 50 mm deep with two150 mm diameter saw blades.  The chaser has features such as LED load indication and electronic overload protection, and a laser guiding beam integrated in the blade guard.
Established in 1978, with its head office and a production plant in the Netherlands as well as a production unit in Belgium, the company has an annual turnover of around $15 million, employing over 125 people.
Adamas, according to van der Zwan, is a constantly-evolving company. “We are constantly enhancing our production capacity and product quality as well as cutting our costs,” he says.
The company has, for instance, heavily invested in laser welding equipment for its diamond drill bits and saw blades.
Commenting on the firm’s participation at the Big 5 show, van der Zwan says: “We had a good response during our participation at the event last year, which helped us establish various new contacts in the Gulf. The show enjoys a very good reputation, which prompted us to return this year.  In addition, the region offers a large potential for the construction industry.”
He continues: “Worldwide, there is a strong demand for top-quality diamond drilling equipment as companies want to cut down on costs by increasing the productivity of the diamond drilling operators. For this, a reliable and powerful machine is one of the major necessities. We are aiming to attract OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and private label clients interested in top-quality products, and given the outstanding, innovative features of our products, their short delivery times and competitive price levels, we are confident of receiving a good response at the show.”
With business increasing at a stable pace, mainly in its new markets such as the Gulf region, India and Russia, Adamas hopes to mirror the success of Core Powertools products achieved in Europe in the Middle East markets.
“Adamas successfully established a dealer network for Core Powertools products in Europe, supported by an aggressive media campaign, exclusive dealerships and an interesting pricing and discount structure. We hope to repeat this success in the Middle East region.”
The Adamas and Core Powertools products will exhibit within the Holland Pavilion.
