Unique welding programmes and new machines for welding pipes and fittings are among the latest offerings that the UAE-based BMC Gulf Trading and Contracting, will be aggressively promoting when it returns to the Big 5 show this year.
“This year we intend to promote two of our main lines of business which are environmental and geotechnical solutions, in cooperation with our principals such as Agru, Alyaf and others; and plastic welding technology in cooperation with Agru, Widos, Leister and SKZ Germany,” says general manager Reda Ashkar.
“In particular, we will introduce the SKZ training programmes, which are the first certified specialised welding programmes in accordance with the German DVGW – worksheet GW330/331,” Ashkar says. “In addition, we are introducing new machines for welding high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes and fittings from Widos of Germany.”
The introduction of the new training programmes follows the recent opening of the SKZ Training Centre in Jebel Ali. The facility is fully equipped for the training and certification of engineers, site supervisors and welding technicians in the field of plastic pipes welding.
Commenting on the show, Ashkar says: “The Big 5 provides a great opportunity for traders, manufacturers and contractors to gather under one roof. It also enables them to update themselves on the latest technology in the industry, obtain leads for new business, learn what the competition has to offer as well as launch their latest products and services. We received a good response at our stand when we exhibited at the show last year and garnered some potential leads for business.”
The Dubai-based firm, which has seen a substantial growth in its turnover, is upbeat about prospects for the construction sector.
“Thanks to the current boom in the Gulf region, the BMC Gulf group has doubled its turnover systematically over the past five years. Our business has experienced tremendous growth this year, with new clients and projects in the various spheres of our activities and services and the forecast for the future is positive,” he comments.
Elaborating on the company’s plans for the future, Ashkar says: “We are looking at expanding into new markets and boosting our sales force especially on the trading side of the business. We are also keen to actively promote the certification of engineers and technicians in the field of plastic welding to achieve higher standards in the GCC markets.”
“By employing state-of-the-art technology and using the best-quality materials in conjunction with a qualified team of engineers, BMC Gulf aims to be the most reliable business partner offering superior products and services.”
The group currently enjoys an approximate turnover of $70 million per year.
