Water tanks from Pioneer of Australia have stood up to the test of time in the harsh climate of the region, says Specialized Architectural Systems (SAS) of the UAE, the sole agent in the Gulf.

"Ever since this unique product was introduced to the Gulf markets more than nine years ago, hundreds of Pioneer water tanks have been installed at different locations in the UAE and the other Gulf states, including Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen," says a company spokesman. "Thus, we can confidently state that Pioneer water tanks have passed the test of time."

He continues: "Pioneer undertakes continuous research and development on its water tanks and the company recently upgraded the design of these tanks to cater for changing market demands and produce a value-engineered product that is price-competitive, without sacrificing its high quality and safety features."

Pioneer water tanks are cylindrical in shape with a variety of roof options including dome-shaped, conical and fabric roofs.

Tanks are constructed from top-quality BHP corrugated Zincalume steel panels which have remarkable anti-corrosion properties.

A one-piece fibre-reinforced heavy-duty polyethylene liner is fitted inside the tank shell to store the water in a clean, hygienic and sealed surrounding. This ensures that the quality of the stored water is in compliance with the regulations of the most demanding health authorities, the spokesman says.

Pioneer water tanks are suitable for several applications including potable water, irrigation, desalination and fire water storage. They are supplied in various sizes ranging from 5,000 up to 250,000 gallons.

"The ease of transport and installation of Pioneer water tanks make them ideal for use in remote and hard-to-access areas," the spokesman says. "The liner ensures the bolted tanks will not leak and the built-in design flexibility allows for many diameter-to-height combinations."

SAS always stocks several sizes of Pioneer water tanks at its warehouses in Abu Dhabi to cater for immediate water storage requirements.

The company also has experienced installation supervisors ready to mobilise to any destination where water tanks are to be installed, he adds.

Highlighting a recent major project executed by SAS, he says: "We have recently successfully completed a large project for Al Ain Municipality, Garden Section, covering the supply and installation of 14 large-capacity modular tanks for the provision of potable and irrigation water at different locations in Al Ain city and its suburbs."
