Specialist skills ... from concrete repairs to waterproofing to protection.

A British specialist in concrete repair and waterproofing will be at the Big 5 show as part of a drive to boost its business in the Middle East.

Quickseal Specialist Contractors, established in 1984, has expanded to become one of the leading companies in the UK specialising in the repair, strengthening, waterproofing and protection of reinforced concrete structures.

Its knowledge and specialist contracting skills have been utilised all over the world and to strengthen its worldwide activities, it has recently established Middle East offices in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.

"With an in-depth knowledge of products and techniques, an awareness of new technological developments and a wealth of experience, Quickseal Specialist Contractors is a firmly respected authority in each of the areas it operates," says a company spokesman. "These qualities, along with sound commercial understanding, are now available throughout the Middle East and are demonstrated in every project it undertakes."

Detailing the services the company offers, he continues: "As in the UK, covering all of the UAE, Quickseal has a partnership agreement with Rascor International, the Switzerland-based manufacturer of the RASCOflex preventative/remedial waterproofing injection systems and RASCOtec special joint waterproofing system and 'white tank' waterproof concrete schemes. The partnership offers the design and implementation of successful preventative and remedial waterproofing systems for underground and water-retaining structures.

"The techniques are based upon the pressure injection of aqua-reactive flexible modified acrylic materials into cracks or into the structure via special carrier channel profiles placed at the construction stage in place of alternative water bar details.

"The technical design expertise of Rascor coupled with the specialist contracting skills of Quickseal Specialist Contractors - using patented materials and equipment - enables the partnership to offer a unique package with a combined experience of more than 70 years in waterproofing and specialist repairs.

"Waterproofing systems are designed on a project-by-project basis, each one tailor-made to suit the individual requirements of the scheme with insurance-backed guarantees available.

"In addition to the projects undertaken in partnership with Rascor, Quickseal Specialist Contractors offers established services within the field of structural waterproofing services incorporating the installation of waterproof render tanking systems as internal linings, epoxy-cement thin section systems and resinous coatings for bund lining schemes. The expertise and skills of the contracting staff offer second-to-none services in the sealing off of active water penetration.

"Quickseal Specialist Contractors is able to advise clients and assist in the design of refurbishment schemes and undertake the installation of systems for concrete repairs, spray concrete techniques and flooring and lining systems.

"For concrete repairs, Quickseal provides surveys, reports and numerous solutions in this large specialist area. By working closely alongside the leading material manufacturers, solutions can be found using hand-placed mortars, spray-applied concrete, cathodic protection scheme installation, protection from the decay of reinforcing elements using migratory corrosion inhibitors and facade protective coatings.

"Sprayed concrete construction techniques are available to undertake repairs and structure forming. Utilised alongside both manual and robotic hydro-demolition, the repair of large-scale decay and damage can be undertaken on fast-track schemes.

"Complementing both the concrete repair and spray concrete services is the strengthening of structures using carbon fibre and steel plate bonding techniques along with resin injection and grouting services.

"And for industrial resin flooring and bund lining systems, Quickseal Specialist Contractors is able to give well grounded advice and guidance in providing the most suitable epoxy or polyurethane resin solution, whether the surfacing is required to meet specific change of usage requirements, remedial maintenance or part of a new installation. Chemical resistant, hard-wearing, hygienic and aesthetic surface finishes are cost effectively installed."
