One-third of MARAFY canal’s excavation has been completed. |
Western Region
In Jeddah, major progress has been made for ROSHN Group’s largest mixed-use project, the MARAFY canal. This waterway, designed to span over 11 km in length and 100 m in width – comparable in size to waterfronts in cities such as Chicago (US), Stockholm (Sweden) and Central London (UK) – will integrate residential, retail, and commercial zones to support a population of over 130,000.
As of this summer, one-third of the canal’s excavation has been completed, and 1.7 million cu m of earth has been removed from the site. Additionally, construction activities have begun on elements such as the quay wall, the rising main, and bridges across the canal, all achieved with zero lost-time injuries. The canal, adjacent to the group’s ALAROUS residential community, remains on track for timely completion.
