The Aperto 50/GL in

Swiss sliding hardware specialist Hawa AG will again be making a splash at the Big 5 Show in Dubai.

Items under the spotlight at Hawa’s stand at the show will include Hawa-Aperto sliding hardware systems, solutions for lightweight stacking glass and wood partition walls, Hawa-Ordena 70 for frameless wood and/or glass room partitions, along with other established and popular sliding hardware for furniture and interiors
Hawa – which opened a subsidiary in Dubai this year to provide even better support to customers in the region – is looking forward to welcoming business partners at the stand, says a spokeswoman for the manufacturer.
Two members of Hawa’s Aperto product family will be in the limelight at the show. “The Hawa-Aperto 50/GL and 50/H systems are adept at stacking glass and wood partition walls with panel weights up to 50 kg, and present a flush front when closed. Flexible space utilisation in private and public areas was never so easy,” the spokeswoman points out.
In addition, the company has expanded its product line for structurally independent solutions with Hawa-Ordena 70 – a new, frameless sliding hardware system for walk-in closets and ceiling-to-floor room dividers. Ordena can be used with wood, glass or mixed-material door panels and blends in with virtually any setting, from the traditional to the avant-garde – even as a retrofit installation, she points out.
Hawa architectural hardware started off in 1965, with Karl and Otto Haab establishing the business in an office space that measured just 6 sq m.
The duo, however, ensured that things did not stay so for very long, and through an emphasis on high quality and innovative products successively transformed the company’s history into a success story. A new factory was inaugurated in the Mettmenstetten industrial area in 1980, with extensions added in 1990 and 2001. The company EKU in Sirnach joined the Hawa Group in 1992.
“Hawa AG with its 110 employees has been internationally active for many years, earning itself a good reputation in numerous countries. Part of the company’s customer-oriented philosophy is to have a local presence in its significant markets, so as to provide full support to a demanding clientele in the region,” says the spokeswoman.
“This was the primary motive for establishing a subsidiary in Dubai. Development and production remain in Switzerland, where decades of experience with premium sliding hardware engineering provide surety for quality and steady innovation – and ensure that the company will continue holding its own amidst international competition,” she concludes.
Hawa will be present at Hall 3, Stand A123.
