The Big 5 Show

Leading in style

This year’s Big 5 show will witness Union Architectural Hardware Solutions’ biggest stand ever.

Designed and built by a local contractor in Dubai, Union’s stand will showcase the latest new products and security and safety solutions for residential, commercial, healthcare and hospitality projects, says a spokesman for the company.
Part of Assa Abloy – a leading security solutions group – Union will display the latest it has to offer both in terms of products and solutions to the several thousand visitors that are expected to arrive from the region and beyond.
“If it is style that they are looking for, we have a wide range of stainless steel and brass lever handles and associated products including Union Funxion which is the latest in anti-bacterial handles, ideal for healthcare or areas where there is a threat of contamination,” says the spokesman.
Keeping in mind that the handle on the door has to match the door closers, Union is launching its exclusive ‘Signature’ range of covers to complement the handles and provide a stylish aesthetically-pleasing appearance together with a proven and practical product.
“To ensure the highest security in mechanical locking, Union will display its multi-pinned Keso cylinder system. This is a great example of an Assa Abloy solution as the system is manufactured by Keso, which is also an Assa Abloy company based in Switzerland,” he adds.
At the exhibition, Union will also put on display its new range of new mortice locks, including multi-bolt and multi-point variants, with various dimensions and functions that are meant to suit different local market needs. In addition, these products are also available in a variety of different finishes, also to suit local requirements, he says.
Another product to go on display, which is high on safety, is Union’s range of Escape Hardware. Available in both push bar and touch bar variants with a choice of locking options, there is a good choice to suit most applications, he continues.
“However, the key to our success in the Gulf has been the strength of our local partnerships and how our local partners are able to hold the brand in the region. In a move to strengthen partnerships, Union will be exhibiting with its strategic partner for the region, Al Moajil and its Union Design Centres from each country throughout the entire region,” says the spokesman.
Al Moajil, which has a distribution centre in Jebel Ali, holds all the key stock lines and is therefore able to offer next-day delivery on most lines. In addition, it has a fully trained team of specification and sales managers who are able to service project requirements, he adds.
“Through its Mideast-wide network of Union Design Centres, Union offers a list of specialist services that includes full specification, scheduling and supply service to projects to its highly discerning customers. Each design centre will be present at the Big 5 to see the latest products Union has to offer and will also be available to discuss requirements with potential customers,” says the spokesman.
“This year especially, the Big 5 has become a very important event for Union. We will have our complete portfolio of architectural hardware and locking solutions to create awareness among our customers who are looking for quality at a reasonable price.
“Our successes to date must mean that Union is today providing that balance of quality, service and price that is so critical these days,” he concludes.
